Hotel was chosen because close to bus services for levada exploration. Central situation a bonus, perfect spot for dining out and wobbling back from Carnival. Clean, spacious, all amenities close by. Would use this hotel again. Northernista |

The location was perfect. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was cleaned and ready every afternoon on our return from walking or site seeing. A basic but comfortable hotel in a very good location. The fridge and cooker rings enabled our vegetarian leanings to be catered! Would recommend to those not wanting the big hotels out on the edge of Funchal. |

Very clean and comfortable, excellent location in centre of city. Very noisy at night - the cleansing lorries pump water from the manhole next to the hotel, and this can go on for hours. The room could have done with an armchair. |

Excellent location if you like to be in the centre of town. Basic but adequate room and furniture. Plenty of hot water. There was a very noisy air conditioning unit just outside the hotel which switched on and off throughout the night. |

Nice bedroom. No reception, on the intercom we were told the number of the room which was opened. There was a cockroach in the bathroom! |

Nothing too flash to look at, but for location, space and value for money, Residencial Americana can't be beat. My huge, spotlessly clean, studio apartment was located above a square, right in the centre of town. I wasn't after facilities or breakfast (there are ample cafes/markets/restaurants in the area), just a base to return to at the end of the day. I had no problems with noise in the evening (Funchal seems pretty sleepy after midnight) and the cathedral bells didn't start until 8am, so the location was perfect. |

Very simple Hotel. The room as a wc inside. Room had tv (Didnt use it). Good closet. Fridge. Clean. Over all it's was good for the money. It's very Central. The Breakfast it's simple but good. Good hotel to sleep and get out to visit Madeira. Reception on weekend works only on the morning. I had to pay cash because I wanted to pay during the weekend and the rececionist did not know how to work with the Credit Card machine. Gel/Soap it's provided (No shampoo). To reach the room you have a stairs (No elevator). No ac. If you rent a Car you have to pay parking on the street during the Week (Maximum of 1h30 periods). Bell tower close, expect to ear it starting 8h00. |

This residencial is well placed in the centre of Funchal, close to the Cathedral. We were out most of the time so didn't spend much time there. Facilites are basic but perfectly acceptable to us, with a nice ensuite shower room, fridge and kettle for tea making and breakfast.The staff are friendly and helpful and speak English well. Very good value. A couple of minor points. Reception is manned intermittently so I recommend you pay extra for a safe key as security is potentially compromised, although the cleaner is usually onsite for most of the day. Usual problem with street noise but if you want to be central it is something you have to accept. If it's likely to be a problem take earplugs! |

Die Lage des Hotels ist unschlagbar! In Unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hotel befinden sich Sehenwürdigkeiten, Restaurants, ... . Alles was man braucht! |

Schön war die zentrale Lage, das es eine Kochzeile gab und der kleine Balkon der für eine Person mit Stuhl gerade so ausreichte um die Morgen- und Mittagssonne zu genießen. Die Ausstattung der Küche war sehr spärlich. Die Lage relativ laut dafür aber ja zentral. |

Optima Residencial! Pessoas super simpaticas e muito acolhedoras. Numa próxima visita ao Funchal tenho a certeza que voltarei a ficar lá. Muitas escadas e muito ingremes. Ficamos no quarto mais alto, mas a vista era sem duvida a melhor. |
