Good location, good price, comfort is basic but expected and correct breakfast Very noisy inside the hotel, very dark room, no TV which could be expected for this category. |

Residencial Aviz is very well located for a stay in Porto. For the price (very cheap) I was pleasantly surprised. It is a little tired, but it was clean. |

Close and easily accessible (approx 10mins walk) to the main commercial district of Porto. No curfew, meaning people staying out late, like the locals do, meant that returning to the hotel at 4am was not a problem. Toilet facilities were not brilliant. Our shower head kept falling off, which we had to continually re-attach. |

The location of the hotel is ideal, only a few minutes walk from all the major attractions. The rooms are very basic and tied. The Residence looks like it was once a lovely hotel but not any more. Like most buildings in Porto it looks like it could be falling down. |

All apart from the lack of heating. The heating in the breakfast room was despicable. Guests were wearing thick jackets while eating. Our hotel room was cold, too, as the heating (combined with air-con) did not work very well. We were freezing both nights. Reception staff did little to help. |

It was just what we needed - a clean place to sleep. We first got a room that didn't fit to our requirements because the third bed was to short, but they gave us immediately another room without any problems. It was a little bit noisy in the morning :-(. |

I thought I had booked a double room but found that it was actually three single beds in a cramped room. Not particularly clean and the walls are very thin so wasn't able to sleep due to a snoring man next door! Plus other noises. |

The breakfast was poor and the service very slow. It was not a continental breakfast, there was only a bit, I said a little bit!!! Of coffee, milk, tea and some croissants or bread with marmelade. That's all... |

Nice price and good location. Continental breakfast, though not great, is welcome. Main staircase and above "dome" are beautiful. A bit run down. The back stairs were a bit scary as it seemed the roof back there had some problems. |
