1. Very good wifi speed and signal in the room 32 all the time 2. Price is great - 20 eur per room with shower and WC 3. There is a good cafe just across the road with great coffee and croissants 4. There is a huge food market in 100m away from the location 5. Ten minutes of walk till Robeiro promenade and all sites
1. Very noisy location. Just near several bars and disco bar, where is loud music, shouting all nights. 2. It is not possible to close the windows completely since they are really very old. That's why it was a cold and windy in the room in November 3. No key from the guest house entrance. You need to call ring each time when your back and wait for the owner opening the door
The location, above all, and very caring and friendly staff. We both caught a cold in rainy Porto and they heard us coughing so from the 2nd day they put the heater in our room, and we did not even ask for it. Such an attention!
The bed might be too short for a tall person.
location, friendly staff, value for money
the bed was small and not comfortable and noisy whenever I made any movement. the bathroom facilities were old and basic.
In very central street, only a few meters from Aliados sq,everything close to the hotel!we had a triple room which was very satisfied for the cheap price we booked it...wi-fi signal was good, the bathroom was alright..we had a room in the back so it was very quite...recommended for people who wants a nice cheap room in a central area!!!
No elevator and they don't speak English in the reception, although they are very friendly and nice people.
Right in the heart of Porto
Party all night just across the street. Even earplugs did not help.
It was walking distance to the REDE bus station and Sao Bento train stations making it easy to move around the region. Also it was walking distance to the main attractions.
There were a flying insect in the room, due to the windows which had to be open as there was no air conditioning. I finally got rid of it after a few nights. I must admit though, I did not ask the owner to get rid of the insect, as I thought it would leave by itself.
The Residencial is very close to the center of Porto
The staff doesn't speak English. The room is really small (bathroom small) and with strange smell of ammonia.
Nice bakery just cross the street. Close to all the restaurants. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Noisy street. Need ear plugs.
It's run by a sweet couple always helpful, we felt it was very quiet there at all times and the main attractions a short walk. Not a luxurious place but price is unbeatable really!
If you look for value for your money nothing is wrong here... enjoy Porto, a city to go back!
Very nice staff, too kind to be true. They don't speak English but they try to understand what you need. Excellent location, there is a subway station very close and there are a lot of places to eat around as well.
The wifi signal was weak in the room.
The staff, correctly, a couple of owners, is very pleasant. Although their English is not perfect they are ready to help. So you can ask them of a hair drier for example. The hotel is located near Sao Bento station and a bus terminal.
The street is animated almost all night long, but not too much.
cleanliness & nice location
It is old, small but clean.
The size of the room. We were on the streetside and we got a lost of noise from outside and from the 5 wifespots they have nothing worked. Sometimes a few secondes and then it was gone. Reset the router But that helped not! We don't speak Portugese and the ownership don't speek English so we had a communicationproblem. With the WIFI we could use the translator. For the Parking: after U got the Residencial Belo Sonho on the left side a few buildings behind there is the parking garage. Park your car there for €12 a day. There are no free places! When u are taller then 1.7 meter then u have a problem with the bedsize like we have.
Central location. Basic, but clean and quiet. Great WiFi. Good value for money!
Excellent location, quiet room as it was in the back.
wifi signal wasn't so strong in our room. I needed to go out to have a better reception.
Location: close to beautiful areas, many restaurants nearby. Very cheap alternative for budget travelers.
Terrible noise coming from the streets, sometimes from the interior as well. Staff don't speak English. Bed sheets dirty with oily spots. Poor quality TV, slow internet that frequently interrupts. High stairs to climb at the entrance, no elevator. Very small bathroom.
Clean and nice staff
The space as a whole was pretty dark. Lots of stairs to go up.
Quiet rooms. Towels exchanged daily. Ironing by oneself for free. Good location. Great price.
Internet connection unstable.
The doorbell being rung repeatedly at 3am probably woke everyone except the landlord! Finally answered, by which time we were very awake. Why not either a) give people a key or b) set up a doorbell system that ONLY wakes the landlord, and not all the guests???!!!
very friendly staff, clean
Faulty internet (in configuration at the time), noisy street till 2am
Clean but very basic rooms
If you get a street facing room you can forget about getting a good nights sleep wednesday to Saturday. Night clubs blaring music till 6 a.m.. people shouting and roaring outside. Had ear plugs as well as large headphones on and could hear everything as Windows are wafer thin Male owner was welcoming... his wife less so and would look on you as an inconvenience. Can't believe this gets an 8.2 ranking
+Great and easy to reach place +Lovely owner +Excellent value or money!
-The best years seem passed -Rooms could be arranged better
location excellent, room adequate for the price!
shower very old, needs a bit of updating
The location was handy. The price was right and the room was super clean. Staff were nice. There's a great cervejaria below and a decent music venue, Maus Habitos, next door. Apparently, there's a basement punk venue nearby too. Ask at the Porto Calling record shop for details. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat again and would recommend it. You get what you pay for. Hostel beds in dorm rooms are only slightly less!
The noise on the street was quite loud on Easter weekend. One could request a room not facing the street. Staff are accommodating. The setup with the toilet and shower is challenging and I'm a petite woman.
Locationa and price were excellent!
