Really noisy and has a nightclub just near the hotel; you'll have problems with sleeping if you're going to stay there during the weekend. And the room is really old looking.
Very good location and friendly staff!
No central heating during my stay, in november
Location in the centre Room size and comfort Staff helpfull
The location of this hotel could not be worse. The noise from the surrounding area was atrocious and meant no sleep for the four nights we spent there. The windows are single glazed and the shutters do not keep the row from the street from disturbing you. The television aerial was held on to the cable by tape and didn't work. The tap in the shower of the first room we were put in did not work so we were moved to another room. Then there was the ants, need I say more.
- You get charged an additional amount for a very average breakfast and this is not clear upfront - The staff do not speak any English
- Would struggle to be more central in Porto - The price was attractive
The rooms are too basic. The humidity is terrible, the walls are in mould. We changed our room because the shower in the first one did not work well (there was no pressure, we basically couldn't use the water). There was no Internet connection in the whole room, only at the door to the corridor.
There was Internet connection. The young lady at the reception was very polite to us. The location is quite good - in the old town, at a central street, close to the very heart of the historical center of Porto where the municipality is located (7 min walk).
In the night, it turns into a nightmare. Drunken people making noise all night long on the street... car horns... dogs... car alarms... and when everything is quiet, the seagulls are starting to make noise...
During the day, the location is great. Very central.
We got the room with moldy walls and terribly smelly wardrobe. The receptionist was so kind to show us two other rooms (one was in the exactly same condition as one we got at the first place), so we chose another one that was slightly better. Only one of the receptionist could speak English.
The location is great, right next to the main pedestrian street. The female receptionist was kind.
If you can't sleep with noise it's not a good hotel for you. There bars nearby and a theater right beside. Breakfast could be better.
It's an old building, with carpet on the floor... But it's very clean and the staff is great! The room has a good size and good ventilation.
There's three clubs/restaurants with very loud music. Very loud music. And very loud people on the street. Being on a third floor, with everything closed, was not enough. They told us the police was there but they didn't do a thing. Typical. I feel sorry for the owners, but they should not rent a room if they don't guarantee its tranquility. A free breakfast can't replace a terrible night in a inexplicable vibrating room.
Good location - close to shopping area and S. Bento train station & subway & Av. Aliados.
Interior is outdated, but still I am happy about my stay - for one day, just perfect.
I think it a very good starting point to explore the city , cafe Majestic just around the corner,so as main shopping street and metro station. And price for the room was around same as we paid for the lunch that day- great value.
Much noise. The bedroom window was very close to the street.
- Wifi didn't work properly. - Can't have guests in the room more than 15 min and they aren't allowed after 10 PM.
- Staff. - Location.
noise from the street due to the old windows. old furniture bad wifi
excellent staff near the supermarket and some bars & restaurants, pedesterian street with lots of shops/ everything (historic places) close with walking distance
Electronic chimes at 8 am and every 15 minutes or so
There was nt anything I did nt like
I liked the staff who worked there , they made me feel very welcome and always made sure I was ok and I was happy
Room smelt. Walls were dirty. Room was very noisy.
Great friendly staff. Location
The hotel was dirty the carpets had stains all over them, the walls had stains all over, the shower curtain was held up with a bit of string,.. and NOISY!!! I have traveled a lot and staid in many hostels and hotels some clean some not so clean but this Hotel was the worst Hotel I have ever staid in. YUK !!!!
There was nothing about this hotel that was good except its in the town centre
The street is noisy at weekends, beyond staff control, better to get an upper floor.
Staff were very helpful, they made the stay worthwhile I made booking mistakes, they sorted the problems.
Too noisy outside the window, no climatisation, very old building, poor breakfast.
Personel was polite and friendly, towels and linen were changed every day.
It's cheap, large space with quite circumstance. I would strongly suggest to others.
Only two power sources in the whole room (one used by TV, other - in bathroom). Street is quite noisy in the morning, so be prepared to wake up early in the morning.
Location is quite good. Lobby lady offered our private parking near hotel with discount.
The loudness of bars, the weak wifi. The walls werent painted since years and the furniture and bathroom was a bit old, it was suprising if this hotel ranked four stars.
The location of hotel, the helpful and flexible stuff.
Wifi is not very good working
Extremely noisy street until early morning and rooms as well, the windows and walls are really poor, you can hear the neighbouring room and bars as well. Old and smelly building.
Very kind staff, close to the city centre.
