Hotel Grande Rio  

In room 117 and 118 very good beds. Breakfast is perfect and nutricious, space to sit a little bit narrow. Excellent service and advise from Staff. Metro at 300 m. Rooms simple but sufficient furnished. Cafetaria Nelma at ca. 200 m. in de rua De Bonjardin has a simple but very good and affordable kitchen. Best fries ever and one should taste the homemade scamps or the bread with a thick layer of beef topped with cheese. Very good hotel for citytrip or a bit longer, specially for this price. I was with 7 friends but will return with my family.

Considering that grande rio hotel is low budget place, we found it very pleasent. We got all the help we needed. Breakfast was simple but sufficient.

Comfortable, conveniently located and a good value.

First of all, hotel staff were very helpful with everything. Hotel is located very close to metro station and the street was very quiet. Cleanliness of the room was perfect. If i visit Porto again, its gonna be the hotel that i will stay for sure.

very good value, accessible by public transport (5-10 mins walk to metro station with connection to the airport & main line railway). 15-20 mins walk to city centre. Nice breakfast.

Good atmosphere and excellent staff

Much better, cleaner, nicer than most the other cheap hotels and hostels I have been to. No cigarette smoke. Breakfast included. Quiet street. Not far from the center and close to the metro (Faria Guimaraes). Bed is ok.

Can be noisy during the day due to use of water by others. Water easily gets on the bathroom floor when taking shower.

It is a nice small hotel. We were there 5 nights. Clean, near to the city and the Metro also to the city center. You can walk to the most of the places those are in and around the hotel. Breakfast is ok, but that would be better if they can change the menu every day bit by adding some more varieties.

Nice, helpful and understanding staff (helped on all requests and also didn't mind an accidentaly broken plate), good breakfast (for value), well placed near metro and within walking distance from the city center. Quiet area. Good choice if you're on a budget.

The room was rather small and there was not much comfort, and you could hear when there were noisy neighbors in the corridor. But I guess it's what you can expect for such a price.

Location in an area which was fairly run down (but then most of Porto is like that!) a very small bath and there was a small plate in the bathroom floor which was loose and the water from other rooms flowed under our bathroom floor...which was noisy!

it is near the center of the city, it is cheap and clean, the stuff is very kind and they do well their job.

our room was near the reception and in the mornings it is a little noisy if you want to sleep more than 7 am.

Room was not cleaned for the whole of our stay ( 4 nights ).

Our stay was very comfortable and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was good for the price and was cleaned very well every day. The breakfast was good and again service was very helpful. There was a noisy room one night but the staff delt with it very quickly and politely. The hotel is situated above the city center and it was a long climb if you decided to walk back, but the buses and metro were convenient if you preferred. We would definitately stay there again.

No rugby world cup on tv!
