Real feeling of Portugal, narrow corridores, small rooms, old furtniture. For us this was just enough to spend the night before moving on. Great value for money. Big plus - wifi in the room. Thank you! If you have heavy luggage, be prepared to carry it up some really steep stairs.

Location is very good. The rooms are small and the furniture is really old, it smells a bit like at grandma... The bed was very unconfortable.

Centrally located in the old city center of Faro. Small but clean rooms. Good value for money as said by a traveller before, the owner is quiet rude, obnoxious & really not helpfull. It was naive from us to order a taxi via him (to bring us to the airport), he even succeeded not to do it. As he disappeared at the moment of our check-out, we had to run to another hotel to ask the kind people there to order a taxi (during siesta, you don't see any taxi on the streets in Faro). Although there is a small roof terrace, from the moment you appear there during night for a smoke, the owner kicks you out & chases you back to your room.

Good location. A bit "basic". But it is what it is. Cheap and cheerful. Lack of soap. Owner can be a bit odd and surly...... seems to lack spare change.

Reasonably quiet in downstairs room. I think this was only because we were the only people on the downstairs level. Owner was really rude. Not a people person. No idea why he's running a hostel. I emailed ahead to say that we would be checking in late at night - no response. When we arrived he yelled at me to stop making noise with my suitcase. It's a bit tricky to get a 20 kilo suitcase upstairs and downstairs again without making noise so I was yelled at the whole way to "be quiet". Tried to put my friend and I in a double bed even though we'd booked for a twin room. Made me come upstairs to get the new key and then said "Now sleep. No noise!" Never been spoken to like that by staff in a hotel/hostel anywhere!

Nothing Practical everything... The worst accommodation I have ever visited (So far 350-400 different places) Grumpy and dictatorial host, No hot water, very small room (until I demanded another one) No internet (had to "steel" it from the neighbour), exstremely noisy outside at night.. several times I had to shout... etc etc... I would absolutely not reccomend it to anyone FARO is fantastic - everything.. EXCEPT for DANDY...

It's very complicated to evaluate this hotel, because we stayed there twice and our rooms were in different buildings. I didn't like the first one, which is situated in the neighbor street of the reception. The bathroom was a bit dirty, the window needed renovation, we couldn't close it. It was very noisy at night, especially at 4 a.m., when people came back from bars and parties. You can hear each voice and car, as if there were no glass at all. Second room is in the main building and it was adorable. Bathroom is very clean and comfortable, room is old-fashioned, but very sweet and due to proper window and big distance to the street VERY quiet. There were also kitchens in both houses, but I wouldn't recommend to cook there. There are only basic kitchen facilities and it doesn't look suitable for cooking something more difficult than tee.

Cheap. Clean. Not far from bus station and embarcadero. There is some kitchen equipment: microwave and refrigerator. There is not kitchen corner. The beach is not close to Faro (the way to beach takes 30min by boat)

Very clean no window in the room so felt quite weird. The front door of the place was locked at 12 each night and we had to ring the buzzer to be let in. Would have be more convenient to have a key for the main door. The hotel staff would talk loudly outside my room after they had told us to be quiet. I found this quite disturbing.

Location. Price. Old-fashioned plumbing permits odour from sink outlet. Cover it with a towel for an odour-free sleep.

location near the port and shops Very dark and dingy in the room, without natural light and poor ventilation resulting in musty smell. Definitely would have been worth a little extra for decent sleeping quarters.

The old-fashioned decor, comfortable bed, and having a hand-basin and bidet in the room. Wi-fi in each room, a small but comfortable lounge area. Great central location.

The location of the hostel. Only few steps to every place in the city centre. The room was in the basement, so there wasn't a window for fresh air. The room service forgot to lock our room after the morning service. But I will sleep there again if I am there for only a few nights and for sleeping and not relaxing in the hostel...

The owner or the keeper was the worst one I met during my travels at all. I suppose to have a twin..got double..twin next day, but price was more expensive for twin than double...the room are very common and old...you have to go to another building from the reception to find your room..

An old fashioned guesthouse but quite charming in a higgledy-piggledly sort of way. Very clean. Had shared bathroom so it was great to have a hand basin and bidet inside my room. Great central location and very quiet. The receptionist is a bit of a 'grumpy old man' but is okay and anyway fits in well with the decor!
