Situated in a quiet residential street in the heart of Lisbon, Estrela dos Anjos Guest House offers cosy, air-conditioned rooms with city views. Subway Anjos is a 2 minutes’ walk away.
Score from 140 reviews Good
Lovely park-like grounds with fountains and paths. Felt like a monastery. Away from the city chaos. Very generous buffet breakfast. 10-minute walk to the Metro. Well maintained.
Some visitors may not be happy with the 45-minute ride to some parts of Barcelona. Not for people who can't walk hills (but I did acclimate.)
Clean room and bathroom. Helpful ladies at reception. At least one spoke English. Bus stop just at the corner (about 50 feet from hotel).
Slow lift. It took a long time to get to and from our floor (3rd floor). Better to take the stairs if no luggage.
Just a bit outside of the center but 5 min by foot from the metro station.nice room and big...we had a bathroom in the room in a very cheap price...wi-fi signal good,in a quite street...
Some issues we had the reception didn't seem to bother...
Location was great - very close to the old town
Rather noisy, especially in the morning. You could have hear everything through the walls! So ot was hard to get a proper rest as it was noisy from 7am. Also view from the window was rather dreadful - we couldn't leave our window open 'cause just outside there was scaffolding and someone could easily get inside
Location, good price, cleanness
No window in our room
room only cleaned every 3 days with new sheets and towel thn otherwise fine
It had a TV and WiFi
Really tiny room, the window was in front of the bathroom door and facing an inner yard with no sunlight what so ever! There was a construction work going on through the whole stay. Really disappointed with this hostel and I don't havr high expectations in general!
few kitchen ware
English speaking personel, tidy rooms, air-conditioning, friendly atmosphere in the hostel
The location. It was rather easy to find with a taxi.
The bed was very uncomfortable. The 'air conditioning' did not cool at all, it only blew air, but not cooled air. The room smelled of sewer and did not have enough ventilation. There was a lot of noise which all of the other factors, made sleep difficult.
not bad lacation, good wifi signal, clean.
small rooms, some with only small windows with poor view to inside yard.
Good location, clean room, reception open 24/7. I would recommend it.
Rooms are hot
During reconstruction the building (nearby) was really bed condition - only window was oriented to the courtyard total in building renovation. Before your reservation ask a question about recontuction activities!
I liked the helpful staff and the room layout
The mattress was impossible to sleep on. The walls are very thin and you could hear noisy neighbours. Noisy outside too.
Seems like a fairly safe place to stay. Has air conditioning... The fact that they only clean your room every 3 days, we know that there won't be people in our room touching our stuff or going into our room. Basic room, will recommend it to travelers who just needs a place to sleep. You can store your luggage before or after the check- in/out so you can go out and explore.
They say that they clean your room every 3 days... This includes changing towels every 3 days. I asked for clean towels on the 3rd day (after sleeping 2 nights), and they would not change it. Some of the staff are not that friendly... Not sure if that's a European thing. Their answers to any question is quite blunt and sometimes not that helpful either. There's a slight smell of mold in the room.
Affordable English TV channels !
Private bathroom is very small. No window(s), no air circulation !! Far from main road.
It was clean, friendly staff
Noisy early in the morning (washing-machine started at 7.00 a.m.) Long walk from the metro....
Very hot in rooms
Constructing works were in process in 5 meters from the window. It started at 9 0'clock every morning and made too much noise. It was impossible to sleep after 9 o'clock. In addition I asked the receptionist to wake me up on the check-out day, I wasn't done.
Good Price, nice Staff, clean
It was hard to sleep because of noise, hard to get with metro from City Centre (you have to change metro lines 2 time), room smells like klor, but it was clean
neat environment air-conditioned rooms in the city centre
almost nothing.......except for some part of the bathroom......looks old.
Convenient for central Lisbon Good value for money Comfortable, if basic, air conditioned rooms Friendly staff at reception
Toilet seat broken in the bathroom Walls not very sound proofed
Location was good. Room was very tiny, but it's fine when you mostly want to do sightseeing
Shared bathrooms were not clean enough and on the last day of our stay there was no hot water. There was renovation going on, so the smell of paint was all around the place, nobody informed us about that situation before coming.
