Modest hotel, with perfect quality/price ratio. I liked the breakfast as well, close to the city center. Taking the price into consideration I really liked everything :) |

I had booked a room with a bathroom so I was actually placed in the Residencial Joao xxi, located very close to the Mar dos Acores (the two hotels have the same owner). It was ok, especially for 30 EUR/night with breakfast included, good price/service ratio! Room was cleaned every day, reception staff were very very friendly and took great care of me, gave me lots of information about things to see/do in Lisbon, transport connections and the like. And they made me feel really welcome, which is quite important when one travels alone! Breakfast was plentiful and good. Great location, you have the station of bus 790 (which goes to the centre) right in front of the hotel and the station of a bus going to the airport 15 mins away (on foot). Just do ask for directions on getting there in advance, I relied on the map and had to walk uphill for about 20 mins, dragging my suitcase along...and mind you, Lisbon streets can be steep! Unfortunately there is no Internet in the Joao xxi hotel (yet) and so I had to take my laptop to the lounge of the Mar dos Acores and stay there to check my emails, where the connection was in fact quite poor and unreliable. They told me at the reception of Joao xxi that they are installing Internet in the near future, hopefully that will work better. My bed was not very comfortable. The room window opened into a small inner yard which had a glass rooftop, so the only way to get some air into the room was to use the air conditioning, which had a slight smell. Also it meant I had no idea what the weather was like until I got to the breakfast room, which can be bad for one's plans for the day! I mean, if you get up at 7 to go sightseeing and you notice it's pouring outside, I guess you'd prefer to sleep some more... |

The cinditions are relevant to price. It not far from center, hovewer you have to change metro. Room has air condition. Well its quite old, no luxury ofcourse, but condering the price, it ok what you get there. Staff is very friendly and helpful. |

It's not the most luxurious of places, basically just a cheap place to sleep but at 20 euros per night with breakfast thrown in it's a bargain. My single room had a bed, wardrobe, tv, and sink only the bathroom was shared. The people at reception are really friendly and go out of their way to help! I would definaetly recommend this hotel, especially those on a budget. A girl woke me up in the night with her passionate screaming! |

The staff willingly googled information to help me locate specific places I wanted to visit, but were not available on tourist maps. Since I don't travel with a lap-top, I'd appreciate available internet access. |

The breakfast is not good. If the hotel was clean always there was a sewer smell. Also is far away from the city center and not near a subway. |

Excellent service, friendly staff eager to give suggestions on what to do and where to go. It's a bit of an (uphill) walk from the metro station. |

Old historical building. Close to a metro. Not far from old city center. Very nice hotel staff. Too noisy, because my room was on a first floor. |

Stuff speaks excellent English. Extremely friendly and helpful in providing all the info about the city and its tourism. Very clean with its own character. A bit far from the historical center. Even by metro it takes about 20 minutes to get there. |

The inside /common areas (corridor etc.) are covered with tiles, or china ustensiles which makes it look nice. It is certainly not the "boringly modern" kind of place you can find. breakfast only after 8h00 am: that is quite late ! Room was also relatively humid (even with fan on), this seems current in old Lisbon hotels. |

Good value, budget priced hotel. Bed comfortable, shower ok. Air conditioning worked fine. Breakfast fine (meat, cheese, cereal, bread, coffee, tea) When you arrive at Lisbon, take a taxi to this hotel. The taxi trip is cheap and it saves having to lug your suitcases around. When you get settled in, the nearby bus stop, bus 790 will take you to the centre of the city. |

We are a first-class residence situated in the heart of Lisbon city, between Martim Moniz and Figueira Square, with a great view to S. Jorge Castle. |
Recently renovated, Residencial Joao XXI is located in the heart of Lisbon, close to Avenida da Liberdade, Marques de Pombal and popular Baixa of Lisbon. |
Lar do Areeiro is a Hotel unit of unique characteristics, totally renewed. |
