Although arriving to stay at February, having booked at August; although having communicated by email one week before the check-in date about our late arriving time, we were said something about a mysterious “emergency” and kicked off to another hotel, located on a busy street, where at our arrival nobody knew about our requests made six month before... And here our booking conditions were taken into consideration only after strict requirements.
This was very basic, plain Accom. We got what we payed for- not much! Our bookingwas changed by staff from twin beds to double without telling 2 adult females. Staff would not refund money but tried to rearrange rooms for us. Had to stay in 2 different rooms in 2 Hotels...Haha lesson learnt n won't stay here again.
I had a single room with shared bathroom. The room is spacious and clean. Friendly staff.
The only thing I missed was some hooks to hang your clothes in the shared bathroom.
Comfort, friendly staff, excellent wifi and close to city centre and local pubs and restaurants .FANTASTIC VALUE FOR MONEY.
Nothing bad to say about this place.
Great price, very friendly and helpful staff
very small rooms, not very close to the city centre
The staff are really polite and helpful. Also the location of the hostel is good.
The problem was mainly that you could hear everything from the rooms above and beside because of the paper thin walls. Additionally, it was really disturbing that we had to pay the print out of our boarding passes (1 euro per page).
Many transport facilities (bus to the center just a few steps away, in 5 minutes you can reach Praça do Comércio, for example). The rooms are clean, the staff is quite friendly, I was let to leave my luggage for the whole day before and after my stay. I have stayed there twice, and am sure to come back the next time I visit Lisbon. Excellent value for money!
quite a nice, big bed air conditioning that we used to heat up the room so even the leaking window didn't bother us that much free wifi
leaking window in the room the bathroom had a peculiar smell
The place was clean, and the location is pretty good!
My partner and I unfortunately got screwed over by an airline with our snowboard on the way there and were incredibly short on money, because we had limited money on our cards and some in cash they allowed us to pay the majority of the fee and to pay the rest the next day when we were paid. It even left us with enough so we could eat, eternally thankful for this! The staff also pointed out a local laundry and Lidl store with a map.
The apartment is so big! and the price is low
the neighborhood is not so fascinating
There was no wardrobe in bedroom,so could not hang my clothing
Friendly staff, fast wi-fi, comfortable room, cheap price.
TV with many channeld, sink, heating and air-conditioning, quiet location and nice decorations within the hotel. Free wifi and kitchen facilities and 24 hour reception with security. Very good value for money, unbeatable.
1 AM. No hot water, then water leaking from the wall. 2 AM. they try to pursuade us they don't have another room. I call Booking. Then they suddenly find another room, but not before we sleep in another hotel, with no bathroom in it (though we paid for one). Tomorrow. I want to check another room before we come in. A girl at the reception sreams at me they don't have another room available. I check it anyway. Moving 2 times in 12 hours while we should enjoy our holiday. Suggest that you find another place.
The cleanliness was very obvious and the value for money was excellent.
The staff could help residents by being more proactive in advising where to eat and drink locally.
really enjoyed my stay, rooms are clean, stuff is very nice, in the evenings there are free shows
Location, room, lift, free 100% wi-fi, staff, price, and the cafè round the corner is wonderful,
At the price, it was very good indeed
The girls at the front desk were nice and apologized for the inconveniences.
We were three in a room an the extra bed was a week movable bed that broke and they suggested sleeping with the mattress on the floor, offering no solution. When we went to ask for toilet paper, there was none at the reception and gave us a used roll. They clean the room every 3 days.
We should have stayed at the Residencial Mar dos Acores but were redirected to their sister hostel round the corner, Joao XXI, rua Gomes Freire, 179, Lisbon. Situated in a residential/business (but only a 20min. Walk to Lisbon centre) area with plenty of cafes, eating places and local mini markets. The reception area is situated on the first floor and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly with very good language skills. Our room, 302, was spacious and surprisingly good quality furniture, a comfortable bed although rather firm, reasonable lighting. The decor was neutral. The bathroom was adequate but with a hand held shower which was, to say the least, inadequate and the old taps in the sink definitely need replacing. But we did have plenty of hot water. The furnishings though are dated and rusting but as a hostel, reasonable. The TV though was a big surprise, a large screen with plenty of options in English, Portuguese, etc. So if you are bored with life there should be something to while away an hour or two. The wi-fi is excellent. To summarise, you get what you pay for and this hostel offers good value for money and delivers what it says on the packet – a no frills but pleasant enough accommodation.
The rooms though are only cleaned every three days and if you want extra towels there is a surcharge of 5 euros.
Responsive staff, private toilet and shower room, good price
+ The staff was friendly; + Clean bathroom; + Comfy bed; + Great Wi-fi; + Good value.
- The wooden stairs (my room was facing them) made quite some noise whenever people climbed them.
It was cold and unpleasant. The zircon was supposed to heat the room but it didn't work. The bed is a disaster. Never wanna go back there. If you want to know more try it out. KS
Excellent and friendly staff. Excellent room (#5), with a sink, table, mirror, natural light, ultra fast and reliable WiFi to the room. Appreciated the heat, not always available in Lisbon hotels.
Some strange humming noise at night, sounded like it was coming from machinery or maybe the heater, but it varied in pitch and volume and woke me several times.
Reliable WiFi. Quiet area, only 20 min walk from the city centre, also fairly close to the Picoas metro/bus. 24h reception with friendly and helpful staff. Remote control operated heating works, just learn how to use it.
Room facilities, old and dated. Printing a boarding pass cost me 3 euro.
