Score from 615 reviews Good
Good location, clean with friendly staff, especially Guilliame on reception (spoke good English!).
Shower in our room was a bit small and difficult to get in and out of, although our friend had a nice big bath with shower in her room.
Excellent location - 30 meteres from Av Liberdade, & about 5 mins from Restauradores. You can walk to most of the main central areas, or get onto Lisbon's excellent public transport network. Staff were very friendly & helpful. They mostly spoke good English but were patient enough to talk to me in Portuguese whenever I tried. The aircon worked well
Breakfast was not very good & the coffee was bad. We stayed 5 nights, & it was exactly the same every morning. There was no shower holder, so I had to keep the shower in my hand all the time, which makes showering difficult. There was noise from the street but that was not a problem with the windows shut & the aircon on
Location, staff friendliness and comfort.
Can't think of anything.
Modern clean bathroom. Large spacious room. Perfect location to everything such as food, transport and shopping. Can walk to alot of things.
Noisy air conditioning so had to sleep with ear plugs. Guy next door sounded like a lawn mower and could hear him every night.
Quite good for that price. Fine breakfast in a nice breakfastroom. Close to everything we wanted to reach.
old furniture same food every morning
no elevators no English channels
near central squares and bairro alto, everyday cleanning even not requested, helpfull staff
not at all soundproof (every morning it was the reason we wake up, the matress caused pain in the back, the room was a bit old, wifi only in the lobby
This place had everything you need for a basic good nights sleep, which is helped by carrying your bag up the stairs. It is central for buses, trams, the metro, shops, sea and sights. The airport bus also runs near by. The taxi driver had to ask other drivers where the place was , but then found it without problem. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was basic but more than adequate for the price we paid. We would go again.
Nothing- but if you are looking for a higher standard hotel type accommodation this is probably not for you.
location, friendly staff, large room, good supply of water
bitter coffee and diluted juice, a noisy conditioner
No street racket from outside. The window overlooks the wall of an adjacent building. Not bad for a noisy Lisbon night. Friendly Afro-Portuguese staff during breakfast service.
We ordered two twin beds, but got a double one. The best way to make it up with a close friend of yours or to start a honey moon with your old wife. A lot of pigeons' crap on cornices and windows. It looks so ... unromantic!
the position is very central to the monuments and the night life street even in a quiet street so there's not noise in the night
the wifi works only in the comon areaa and in the first 2 stage (we have the room in the 4 stage and have no signal). the room is little and very old, also the bathroom (ther's no shawer buth bath and it's a little complicated to wash).
friendly and helpful staff. great location. nice price. everything you need is available. good breakfast. nice noise sealing windows. hot water available even in summer. family with little child friendly. safety. nice neighborhood.close to many nice restaurants which are open till late at night.situation at walking distance to rissio. elevador to the top of mountain is very near. if you fancy expansive brand's shopping, the shops are just around the corner. saint george park is around 15 mins walk.the airport bus is 4mins walk which is very reliable and far more cheaper than taxi.all in all best value for money hotel.
I stayed here with my mum, younger sister and partner (who is originally from Lisbon) and we had a normal double with an en suite and a room with a double and single bed with en suite and kitchenette. The hotel was right in the heart of Lisbon with easy access to everything. Staff were always happy to help, give advice, full of suggestions if we needed any, and spoke a range of languages. Breakfast was pleasant and can't complain for the price but if you weren't happy there are plenty of reasonably priced cafes and restaurants close by. Clean and quiet rooms. As my partner is from Lisbon we will definitely be visiting again (and regularly) and we would definitely stay here again without a doubt.
Nothing to fault.
style of the room
Location Price Value for price
The location is great. Staff is friendly. Rooms basic. Breakfast good. Very good value for the money.
Great central location for pleasant price
Missing elevator, but we knew this.
Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Not having wifi in the hotel rooms. I had to do some work and had to spend a few hours each night downstairs in the lounge. Would have liked the comfort of being in my room.
Really loud in the morning (if at the first floor). Forget about sleeping past 7:30 AM!
The location near the center. The cleanliness
The furniture needs to be modernised. No elevator.
I paid for 3 nights but after the first night we decided not to go back we prefer to lose the money than to stay in this place. The receptionist was unpleasant she started arguing with me because I asked if it would be possible to change the room to the second floor instead of the 3rd floor. Note I only asked “If there was a possibility to have the room on the second floor”…. Please after a long trip we did not want to argue we wanted to be welcome as a good residential should welcome their guests. After that we were given a room on the second floor but the smell was so unpleasant that we had a hard time sleeping my group decided not to go back. We called Pensao Roma to let them know that we were not going back, we gave them at least a week notice and they still charged my credit card a fee. It’s ridiculous. The place is falling a part its old a smelly with unpleasant welcome receptionist. The person that was there at night was ok but the woman that we first met when we got there was terribly unpleasant. Well good luck to Pensao Roma they need it.
Excellent for budget conscious travelers who want to explore the city and the surroundings and don’t want to stay all the time in the pension. Location can’t be better – close to Praça dos Restauradores (subway and buses) and the city center. The pension is very easy to find. From Restauradores walk nv on the left hand side of Avenida da Liberdade. At “Vision Lab” turn left and you will find “Pensao Residencial Roma” at the right hand side of Travessa da Glória. If you can’t find the pension go back to “Vision Lab” (opticians). The staff at Pension Roma is nice and helpful. The pension is old but clean and quite comfortable. The room was equipped with a nice bath room, ac, television and in our case, as we had a studio flat, a well-equipped kitchenette. The breakfast included in the price is basic but sufficient. All in all – good value for money.
Nothing really but some arrangements can be made in order to meet some of the complaints in other comments. Elevator is an excessive investment but a few other improvements could be made. Examples are: WiFi in all rooms and new TV’s (24” “flat” instead of 15” “fat”).
Pensão Residencial Roma is the best value for money you can find in Lisbon. Excellent location, very low profile atmosphere with a lot of character, courteous staff, delicious breakfast, enormous rooms; some with cooking facilities, wifi in the lobby. Visit Portugal, while in Lisbon stay at the Roma, and you'll have a great time. I'm sure.
Pension was basic, room small, bathroom mini mini mini. The price was very reasonable. Parking house ner was very good. Breakfast was also very good.
without an elevator
