Ria Park Garden Hotel  

Spacious, comfortable rooms looking onto attractive gardens. Good quality breakfast with lots of variety. Within walking distance of nice beach. Plenty of golfing in the area.

Expensive for food and drinks, rooms could have been better maintained and serviced (bathroom sinks were blocked and slow draining and only one bottle of water was provided over a 5 night stay). The pool was very cold. Few restaurants within walking distance and the area is generally very expensive by Portugal standards. We were staying for a conference and local restaurants were overwhelmed by the numbers of people requiring dinner- hotel should make local businesses aware when they are holding large conferences. No general store within walking distance- tied to eating at hotel or restaurants.

We loved the Ria Park. The staff were lovely very helpful and courteous It is in a quiet location so not suitable for anyone looking for a lot of nightlife.

The rooms were very good and staff were very helpfull.

We had to keep getting taxis in order to find some nightlife which was a bit expensive.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We only ate breakfast there which was buffet style and very nice. There is a relaxed atmosphere around the hotel and pool, although most days we went to the beach which was accessible by the shuttle bus or one could walk. Having loungers, towels and sunshades on the beach provided by the hotel was great - lovely beach.

The downsides were we thought we had use of a gym from the website, but we didn't, the rooms smelt rather damp and our children's room smelt of the previous occupants smoking!

- friendly staff. - good buffet breakfast. - good value for money diner menu incl. wine/beer. - nice cosy pool, bit on small side however. - very nice location near beach and in pine woods. - due to early check-out, reception offered meal/lunch bags to-go: was not there. - cosy atmosphere around terrace, pool and garden.

- facilities like gym/workout room are advertised on site, but are not in hotel. - extremely overpriced poolside menu (€9,50 tosti/mixed toast. €14,- for small tomato salad etc.). - kids got kind of old campingbed with screws on headside.

I enjoyed the view and the beach access and the food service was just great. We arrved late and yet the staff accomondated us with food service even though the staff was about to close the food court, and that made me feel like I did stay at the right place. I want to thank the staff for their excellent service.

I have nothing to say except no complaints

The pool and surrounding area provides perfect summer luxury. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast is impressive. The staff too are helpful and prompt. There is also a shuttle bus to bring guests to the beach every day.

The price of food and drink at the poolside bar is ridiculous. €3.20 for a can of Coke for example. Also the hotel, by default, orders overly expensive taxis for hotel guests (roughly costing 2-3 times more than a standard taxi). Always ask for 'a metered taxi please' at reception to avoid this. The policy of the hotel is a little money- hungry which is a shame.

The thing I liked most was that we have been upgraded to Ria Park Hotel & Spa (***** instead of **** in the Garden) at no extra cost, therefore my comments refer to the Spa. The location is Excellent, the hotel is comfortable and the staff is kind and professional.

What we liked less was the fact that a few teenagers were a little bit too loud in the swimming pool, with no parent or hotel staff supervision. Also, on Friday, there was a lot of people in the swimming pool, and no coordination at all regarding the usage of chairs, so there were some isolated chairs not in use, but no place for a family to stay together.

Excellent hotel and I would definately return.

the hotel switched us to there sister hotel ria park hotel and spa well pleased.

We have been trasfered to the Ria Park and Spa since the Ria Park garden was close so all the comments refer to the Ria Park and Spa. The service was really good and the staffs were very helpfull and very friendly. They gave us an upgraded room upon request and they sent flowers and a bottle of champagne to our room for our wedding anniversary, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast included was really good as well. The pool was very quiet and relaxing.

A bit isolated and maybe too quiet. Food was expensive for Portugal. The room was ok but no luxory at all...look like an all inclusive resort of the Carabeens.

I was given a very good service and the pool area was particularly attractive. We were also given a very good service in the dining room and breakfast was excellent
