The breakfast was lovely with some yummy local treats every morning. Their sister establishment has a very lovely restaurant with excellent views and food.
Personal support at check-in, gave a very detailed introduction where to sightseeing, eating etc. and provides a clear map. Spacious room, with big windows. Nice antique looking furniture.
Smelly bath room. Poor sound-proof door. Very noisy in coridor at night after 12:00. No staff around when I tried to check out at 7:40am! Reception starts at 8:00am! I had to wait and almost missed flight. Nobody told me this when check-in. But I was blaimed that I should have done check-out day before. Isn't it a common sense that a hotel reception open hour should be longer than normal working hours?
From the moment of our arrival we were very well treated with a very usefult introduction to what we should see, when and how we should get there. Joao and his colleagues were attentive and helpful throughout; they not only suggested restaurants based on our priorities but made reservations for us.
Very little not to like One minor carp concerns environment. The excellent information present in our room suggested that for environmental reasons, the air conditioning should be used carefully. A bit disappointing when we returned to our room each afternoon to find a complete newly laundered set of towels and the bathroom heater switched on. Maybe a word needed with the cleaners.
Kind and generous staff, pretty room, easy location.
Perfect location, just in the centre in front of a market. The rooms were very clean, with double glazed windows, it was really quie and the breakfast was amazing. The staff was very helpful too, highly recommended!
Everything apart from the breakfast room. Staff excellent very welcoming and helpfull. Location is near everything including all transport options. (trams, metro and buses).
The breakfast room is small.
the decoration is very beautyful. the reception is very good. and i really like the view of tejo river. i will stay in this hotel again the next time i come to lisboa
Location , staff very helpful and kind, breakfast was nice , market place next door! Was great!
I didn't appreciate at all that we could hear when in others people rooms took a shower, late mornings ?? No way !!
Very friendly personell. It's behind the food market and next to a bar area
- great location - good choice for breakfest
no window in room
I had a great stay here. The hotel is super convinient location wise and the friendly hosts helped me plan my trip with ideas for what to see (and avoid!). This is in a really quirky part of town with lots of interesting bars, cafes etc right on your doorstep. Breakfast was ace and the vintage furniture made the room nice and cosy. Would definitely stay here again!
I like almost everything. The hotel was located in a very central place and everything was easily reachable. We came early in the morning and the people on the reception were really friendly and helpful; they gave us some tips to visit Lisbon, let us leave the bags and they offer us a breakfast (very nice btw:) I really recommend to stay there!
The only minus is the fact that we had a room with a view on... a wall. Even though we requested 2 times to give us a room with a balcony/ nice view.. I really care about these details that is why I was a bit disappointed..
We stayed here for four nights and it was a great experience. It is perfect for exploring Lissabon - everything is in walking distance. And we really liked the breakfast - especially the sweet stuff. :-)
Hospitality, location, breakfast
View to the market place garbage
Great breakfast and high speed wifi
Nothing; perhaps an extra waste-bin, but that's really all we could think of
We stayed for two nights, extremely helpful and welcoming staff. Nothing is too much trouble.
The size of the room was great with a little balcony over looking the market and the river. The bug Buffet breakfast room was sweet with delicious crepes on offer. Great location, we will return!
The cleaning products used were very strong smelling throughout the guesthouse. No noise from outside when the windows were shut (which is amazing) but can hear other guests through walls.
I was particularly impressed by the reception staff. Very helpful, friendly and sociable. It always makes a difference when you see that people do it not because they "have to", but because they enjoy their work. Besides, the home-made cakes at the breakfast were great. I would gladly stay here again.
Breakfast could be a bit more diverse, but for a relatively small place like this it is expected.
Great decor, brilliant entrance hall, eclectic pieces of furniture each complementing the other. Great choice of artistic pieces. Brilliant fresh breakfast, fabulous views to the market and the majestic 25 Abril bridge. Easy going smiling staff, make you feel you are just staying a night with you pals. And also, I like the way they think, business ethos is first class. Just book it, you won't be disappointed.
Infusion air fresheners about the building, unnecessary and for me uncomfortable. Not a big deal though.
Rooms are small but very nicely renovated, staff is friendly
On weekend nights a crowd of young kids gathers outside on the street to party with car loudspeakers. Impossible to sleep until 4am.
The bathroom is too small No vegetabales and eggs in the morning
Beautifully designed rooms. Breakfast is delicious. The area is very well communicated.
Everything was fine.
The view from our window towards the river, with the sun setting behind the Bridge and the location in a lively and very interesting area. It's a bit like Spitalfields in London or the Meat Packing Distict in Manhattan were at the start of their journey. So good music venues and bars nearby and only five minutes from the newly tarted up river front.
Continental bath, impossible to wash your knees. Rather a small room.
Right next to the market, this quirky little guesthouse was also in an ideal location for lots of local bars and restaurants, and bus and tram links if you want to try to avoid the hills. The breakfast was good with fruit, yoghurt, breads and fresh cooked crepes and cinnamon donut things as well as hams, cheeses, jams etc. The staff were extremely helpful with lots of useful local knowledge.
The area is a little scruffy though definitely on the up and it felt safe. The bath in our room was tiny so not good for a leg-soothing soak after scaling the hills all day!
