room - large clean and nice decoration. location (very central but good double glazed windows so quiet in the room). staff - Felipe was super helpful! good breakfast. free snacks and drinks.
Staff, comfortable bed, location, across the street from the market which was a happening, fun place in the late evening.
Shoddy appearance of neighbourhood which turned out to be quite pleasant in the evening
Loved sitting on the breakfast terrace eating a very leisurely and fulfilling meal and looking across the valley at the sunlit hillsides. Luxuriated in the pool. A quiet and relaxing location with excellent attentive but unobtrusive staff. Give us more please!
The staf is really friendly and always ready to help you. The hotel is located very close to the public transports and the renovated «Mercado da Ribeira» where you can find very good places to have lunch or dinner. The breakfast with real orange juice and fresh fruit.
The cleaning of the room could be better.
Fantastically helpful & amazing staff Beautiful rooms Excellent location Superb breakfast
Very friendly and helpful staff, with good knowledge about the city. Nice building with recovered details from the the old structure. Short way to a underground parking.
All the construction works and scaffolding on the building next to the guest house. May be they are finished in 6-8 months?
Staff were superb. Decent location (which I think will improve) and lovely atmosphere created by the staff.
Convenient place close to the very centre. Lots of atmosphere in this older building, in which guest rooms have been integrated very well. Great care for detail, e. g. explanations in the brochure about the area. Very friendly personnel. Good breakfast. No egg, but freshly made orange juice and delicious jams.
Thank so much for the hotel. The manager Filipe was very careful, the room was fresh, full of light and well -styled. You can take free fresh fruits as well as coffee and tea. The breakfast was good, too.
Outside you can only find it by following the address, but one you get past the gate you find yourself in a different world! It's a lovely, quirky, comfortable guest house in a really good location close to all the public transports. The staff were lovely and helpful and the room was spacious, comfortable and well looked after. Can't fault it at all.
Staff was great. Spent time with us telling us what to see and do in Lisbon. Everything was great
When you first arrive you think it is a sketchy area but it actually isn't. The market and closeness to everything is fantastic.
A super friendly reception person, made us feel truly welcome from the first moment onwards. Our family room a spacious, with beautiful Portuguese decor and good size bathroom. Beds big and comfortable. Highly recommended.
I loved the location, Cais de Sodre, really interesting neighbourhood, it's really lively especially at the weekend. Lisbon is a fantastic city and we barely scratched the surface. The guesthouse itself is a lovely oasis of calm and tasteful decor. Philip who works there gave a really thoughtful introduction to the city on arrival, despite his pain at Brazil's very recent defeat(!) and whatever we needed in terms of reservations/ printing out boarding cards, it was no trouble. Charming view of the Tagus whilst partaking of endless cups of coffee, delicious breakfast and engaging, intelligent staff. Sad to go ... but then ... the beach called.
The rooms are bijou, but it was all we needed really.
The staff immediately made us feel welcome and were always ready to provide advice and recommendations. Having 24 hour access to coffee, water, cakes, etc., was lovely, and the location at Cais de Sodre made it ideal for exploring the city or taking day trips to the various beautiful beaches.
While the windows were very soundproofed from the loud bars nearby, there was a lot of noise from the adjacent rooms in the mornings, possibly the cleaners.
Good, clean and charming hotel, friendly staff, great price and location. Hotel bom, limpo, charmoso, funcionários atenciosos, ótimo preço e localização.
No parking provided by the hotel, and the parking places near aren't cheap (>30€). I suggestion I give to the hotel is to try to arrange some discount for guests a a near by parking garage. Of course none of this is an issue if you go by train/subway.
Great staff. Airy and light room with great river view and good location
The location in the centre, near train / metro / tram /bus and in front of the greaat covered market was excellent and the very personnal treatment by the personnel that speaks excellent english and is extremely helpful
The backside of the nice location is the noise on the front of the hotel during the night and in the early morning produced by the market.
The staff was very forthcoming and helpful. Nice room, and splendid location. Will not hesitate to order again!
Excellent breakfast (everything was very delicious & fresh, one of the best breakfasts for a small hotel) Very friendly staff - they give you an overview of the city and useful tips Clean & cozy rooms Location Wifi
Perfect location next to the refurbished Mercado da Ribeira and the heart of Lisbon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Interior design is good.
Quite difficult not to make a noise walking around on the beautiful wooden floors.
Great value for money
No parking around
A very nice and friendly guesthouse. Very good breakfast. Clean and personally stylished rooms. I gladly return here. Value for the money!
It was a construction site outside the hotel. The bed was comfortabel but a bit too narrow for 2
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to advise us and to make suggestions which enabled us to see many more places than we would have done using a guidebook. The breakfast was varied and there was a wide choice.
We had no window and there was no double glazing so very noisy
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, they really made the stay personal to us. There were three of us travelling together and the room was a generous size. Air con was very welcome due to the high temperature whilst we were there. They have installed double glazed windows now which eliminate 95% of the noise outside. We all slept soundly and undisturbed despite the market and cafes outside. The location was great, on a flat area of Lisbon but close to funiculars, metros and tram lines in order to explore Lisbon and surrounding areas. I can not recommend this place highly enough!! Will definitely return!
There wasn't any particular thing that we didn't like. The only slight issue we had was finding the GuestHouse initially even with the instructions in Portuguese for our taxi driver! It is behind the mercado (market) just along a side street behind the cafe teto. The door is green with no sign outside except a small label above the intercom, but the cafe staff were brilliant at directing us! Once found, as previously stated, the location was brilliant!
