This hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Évora’s center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has a spacious terrace and a 24-hour front desk.
Score from 720 reviews Very good
The Albergaria Solar de Monfalim occupies a building dating back to the 16th century. It is located in the historic center of Évora, only 1000 ft from the Roman Temple.
Score from 67 reviews Very good
Very small bathroom. Poor shower . Awful breakfast .
Good location for walking. Glad there was air conditioning because the street was noisy at night.
Very spacious room Bathtub (after 4 weeks of travelling this was a luxury) Close to everything including a great restaurant Whilst some have complained about lack of elevator, we think that given that one goes to see Evora because of its history, you must expect some issues such as this. In any case the man on reception helped us. Certainly value for money.
Breakfast was basic which was a pity. And maybe coffee facilities could be provided but we have noted that hardly any places do provide the latter.
Great room lot of space big bath room very good location
The staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was great - we walked everywhere.
The pool/dining room was excellent - and unexpectedly so. Fantastic food (wild boar, Partridge, venison) at such a reasonable price. Big party of SEnior Citizend on Friday - great atmosphere - and the place everyone in the village seems to go to for a night out with the family. Excellent place, excellent value!
Right in city center. Great food, wine, shopping, museums at your doorstep. Parking nearby.
A bit hard to find.
lovely hotel right in the heart of Evora, fantastic value, lovely, courteous staff. I really don,t understand why some reviewers dissed this great hotel. On some of the specific s people grumbled about, my response :1) staff excellent, reserved but perfectly courteous as as most Portuguese are; 2) comfortable, firm beds and good pillows.3) great breakfast. Overall, a lovely hotel at exceptionally reasonable price. i live in Portugal and will definitely return and recommend it strongly to all.
Even for normal guests, It's very tough lugging a 20 kg bag up 3 flights of stairs to your room. Please consider installing a dummy waiter to bring up/down the bags, at least.
Tv and quality of wi fi
Pateo next door Offered a change of room without us asking because of street noise. Sorted out our bus tickets for us.
Position in the centre of town although gps did not know the street. Helpful and pleasant reception staff. Quiet room as requested.
Toaster at breakfast would have been nice. Very limited tv channels.
The location is vey central, and easy to find. The room we had was a good size and very comfortable.
It does get noisy sometimes at night if you are in a front room. Beds were too hard.
Being able to walk from the bus depot. Having a computer and printer to use.
Staff was very kind and helpfull, location perfect (if you don't have a car) to visit the old city center.
I liked the breakfast, the location and the kindness of the personell. Evora is a very nice city, the food was excellent.
Stayed 3 nights. Pretty town, excellent hotel location (5 min walk to the University if you have business there). Facilities pretty basic but spotless clean. Breakfast ok. Very nice wine bar terrace next door.
Staff have trouble even with the most basic English, and are most unfriendly. Almost impossible to explain I needed more hangers (only 2 provided) but even when that was accomplished the extra ones were never actually brought in. Breakfast starts at 8 am (sic!), and when some of us asked for an early breakfast (7:15) on the morning of our departure, the receptionist was most unkind and first claimed that was impossible! On our return from dinner he gave in a bit and said that something could be managed but no earlier than 7:30. However, to their credit, when we came down the following morning at 7:15, breakfast was set.
Right in the heart of the old town and handy for everything. Staff friendly and helpful.I do like small hotels like this with atmosphere.
Great location, lovely building, clean, quiet.
Excellent value and location. Very clean and well maintained.
The shortcomings are similar to those of most comparable hotels in historic districts: stale cigarette smoke in hallways (not in our room), maze-like layout of rooms at different levels...pretty trivial complaints.
Very nice place, very helpful staff, good breakfast , all around excellent would go back again---give a 5 star....
Location is excellent, the hotel staff were helpful, facilities good and excellent value for the cost. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Evora.
Lots of stairs in the hotel and no lift. This might be difficult for people with mobility problems.
Fantastic location. A GPS is recommended to find the parking unless you have an uncanny ability to navigate the historic part of the city.
An interesting town, in an area about which we know nothing. The staff was welcoming and assisted us in every way they could.
Evora was not as big as it seems. Any more than a day was too much. We had completed our tour in a day.
There was no security on the door of our room, they did not supply a kettle our tea or coffee in the room. It a long day without coffee. And we did not have a lift, you had to walk up two flights of stairs to get to our room.
