Proximity to Metro, leisurely stroll to city centre, cleanliness of hotel and friendly staff.
We're Given a smoking room Which was changed to non smoking. Very noisy dining room.
most things to do with a hotel
They seem unaware that a club sandwich should be on toasted bread!!!
Exelent location... great breakfest...room is very comfort. All employeeis at hotel are on highest level. Big thanks to MR Ricardo at desk !
Location, staff very helpful, great breakfast, excellent cup of tea!
Totally quiet--a surprise given its busy street location. Convenient to walk to old town. Spacious room and bathroom; comfortable, large bed. But the best thing of all was the amazing buffet breakfast--the absolute best we've ever experienced for variety, taste, AND healthfulness. Mindblowing! We looked forward to it every day.
Can't think of a thing! This was one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in. Excellent value for the price, too.
Champain on the room, petals of roses on the bath tube, late checkout, a window which we could open and friendly personals
I must confess I picked this hotel because of its gym. Portugal is a foodie's paradise and I wanted to be able to work out in the morning and then have a blast, eating anything I wanted with no concerns. And their gym equipment was really very good for a hotel. This criteria of choice forced me to cross out all cool vintage accomodation options at Chiado area, but I soon realized it was not a big compromise, as the city centre is very compact and Marquês do Pombal square is just a couple of underground stations away from Baixa-Chiado. In addition, the room was pretty decent for a 4-stars, breakfast was very complete and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
The only thing I can think of now is their wi-fi. You get a usercode and password, but it doesn't mean you get unlimited internet access. I stayed there for 11 nights and ran out of internet around the 6th or 7th day. They could be a little more generous there. Anyway, it's a small detail that's largely outnumbered by their qualities.
The comfort of the room, the quality and choice for breakfast, the helpfulness of the reception staff..
Location was god for getting round city, close to transport links. The standard of the hotel was very high the service was faultless and all staff had a great attitude towards the customers and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were of a good standard, very comfortable and well equipped with good wifi connection. The breakfast choice was excellent and well presented. Definitely first choice if I'm back in Lisbon.
Maybe should have tea and coffee in room, then it would have been perfect. Although they did put a kettle in the room which I requested.
Was recommended by friend.
location, breakfast and quality
no tea/coffe making facilities in the room
Professional staff Location cannot be beat Fabulous breakfast Very comfortable beds.
Modern hotel, facilities very good, breakfast very good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely return to this hotel.
Our allocated room and because we have been there before we didn't need to complete any forms.
The attitude of the waitress who served our drinks at dinner on our 2nd night. My husband was not drinking wine and she started to make a cheeky comment. We also missed the personal touch which we had previously experienced when dining at night in the restaurant.
Nice place, excellent amenities.
Coffee at the brakfast is really very very poor. This is the country of coffee drinking and we had the worst coffee in Portugal in this hotel. Service at the breakfast is very slow, they have a lot of servants but they are pretending to do something instead of real work. You can wait for your fruits for 10 minutes as bowls are empty. I had one guy coming to me during 3 minutes 2 times asking the same question, whenever he can take my plate and getting 2 times answer no :)
clean, the breakfast ornate, comfortable beds, well-equipped, friendly staff. (I went to a lot of the hotel, and it's very good.)
Having to leave
Excellent service, very clean and well located, great full breakfast spread. This is a great place to stay!
The bar Prices
A real 5 star experience. Room was luxurious and so confortable. Breakfast buffet had everything we could want. Full cooked and continental items. Free spa facilities available in the evening
Located at the top floor, with a splendid view on the avenue leading to Marques De Pombal. The breakfast was excellent, great variety of dishes, pastries, fruits and very good coffee. The sauna is good.
Excellent location: right around the corner from Avenida de Liberdade, about a 15min stroll to Restauradores and the historic center. Tour buses (and The best fresh lemonade Ever) are literally a 2min walk away at Marques de Pombal. The Av. Liberdade has lots of shopping and restaurants, there's a small mall at Saldanha (up the street from the hotel), and a mall about 15-20min walk away called Amoreiras. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The reception gave us excellent recommendations for places to dine, and was more than accommodating to make or amend reservations, as well as enquire about other options that were either open late, had a specific style, etc. The lobby bar staff was very friendly and gave excellent service; they even went far beyond expectations and shared their own insider tips and places - it felt very familiar! Breakfast was fantastic - a great buffet spread (one of the best I've had). Cheese, cold cuts, fresh fruit, yoghurt, boiled as well as fried eggs, beans, sausages, hashbrowns, mushrooms as well as muffins, pastries, etc. were served daily. In addition, there was a corner which offered a different option every morning. Over the course of the 5-day stay, there were waffles, french crèpes, american pancakes, some kind of "pudding" (British bread & butter, I believe), etc. The sauna was nice, steam room as well and the gym (though small) offered free weights, cardio machines and three combo-machines that were state-of-the-art - I was very pleased with these! Unfortunately, the jacuzzi was not sufficiently warm. Regrettably, the spa did not seem to be open whenever I went downstairs, thus that cannot be commented on. The room was clean and a nice size (lovely view!); all hotel facilities were well-maintained. Overall, the grandeur of the hotel was definitely noticeable! The portier and bellboys were extremely friendly, service-oriented and attentive.
Not a critique on the hotel, as I was aware of this prior to booking it. However, would've loved a hotel cafe/restaurant/terrace with an outdoor section to be ablr to enjoy the weather
Great location, value, comfort and cleanliness level. Nice and helpful staff. Very good for business meetings. Really good breakfast and lunch.
