Staff extremely friendly and very helpful. Beautiful surroundings.
I was travelling alone and arrived late at night and found it very difficult to find the hotel. Signs on the approaching road definitely needed!
This was my third time at this hotel, I gave it an excellent review last time . I went back to enjoy the spa again. This time however I slipped on a very wet floor breaking my ankle. I ended my holiday in hospital.
I feel the hotel should have been more helpful . It has been 5 weeks still with my leg in plaster it has been very traumatic. This accident was not my fault The Hotel have not made an apology or any goodwill offer.
room interior location garden
very bad or no service at the breakfast poor quality of the breakfast (pineapple out of a can!) a staff that is not interested at all in the customer, they are even not friendly very dead hotel, no atmosphere, fake flowers everywhere poor cleaning plastic cover over the mattress, it feels like you are in a hospital but the mattress was a very good quality
The hotels location , gardens and nearby beach were first class.
Five star hotel with 3 star service , hot buffet food was often cold and never replaced ,Long waiting involved for lunch snacks and drinks at the pool bar. Far quicker to walk to beach cafe for better quality food. Would only return if the room rates matched the poor service. ( 3*).
We had beautiful honeymoon in Sao Rafaelo Atlantic Hotel at the end of the september. The room was really spacious with great king sized bed. We had half board and the food was good and various. Staff was nice and very helpful. Hotel has it's own path to the Sao Rafaelo beach which is great. We even got champagne and strawberries as honeymoon welcome gift! Hope to get back there as soon as possible!
It would be great to have more options for recreation. The roof top bar was quite boring, maybe due to end of season.
Grounds and room
Room looked clean but had to get cleaner in to clean underside of toilet seat badly soiled . Cold food at breakfast and fresh fruit covered in flies
Location, modern facilities
Did not allow for a late check out, although the hotel was not at full capacity
The staff loves cats Polite and helpful staff The near by beach Superior breakfast buffet It was possible to get a machine-coffe that deserves this name
WIFI performance was unacceptable poor and login procedure complicated
Amazing views Incredible and extensive breakfast selection Direct access to beach Spacious rooms
Good price with best location.
When I did check-out, there was only one staff at reception who was answering a long phone call. A easy check-out took us nearly 10 minutes.
Great facilities. Grand child loved he use of all the swimming pools great venue for the wedding we attended
Pillows very un comfortable and some staff at bar when ordering food refused to serve it to us when we had ordered there he day before he was very rude
Location (a bit far from albufeira (~30-40 min walking), but very comfortable as not so much tourists as in the city Beach is good Comfortable hotel at all Good territory and nice look of the hotel Good breakfast
A bit strange room design Slow wi-fi Absence of clothes dryer in the room
We stayed there for 5 nights and we liked the hotel and the garden a lot. The way to the beach is very scenic food was good but not stelar. We appreciated the gesture of champagne and strawberries for our anniversary.
A little miscomunication (I hope, at least..) on asking for a corkscrew in our room for our anniversary line, and being told to go to the bar with the bottle -instead of just borrowing one- or pay 8 EUR to be brought one in the room. Don't get me wrong, we could have went to the bar to get the corkscrew, we didn't NEED it brought in the room. But we were not expecting to be charged 8eur, or sent with the bottle. Tue situation got solved , so it s ok, probably a miscommunication. What I didn't like was the fact that we booked with halfboard, and there were no water offered to the meal. Nor were they mentionig it. So we were surprised when we got charged for it. Again, water is water.. We were not expecting alcohol, but a glass of water is common sense I would say.
there was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee. I was told that coffee wasn't supplied in the room. So that meant buying it. Money making racket. The indoor pool is free only if you have a swimming hat! If no swimming hat then its €5 entry. Money making scam. No 5 star hotel should act like this. No water or drinks is included in the buffet. So when you buy your bottle of wine or water the waiters and waitresses rush to your table and top your glass up to finish your bottle quicker hence leaving you to buy more. Its obvious the staff are told do this. Its brutal carry on. Lovely hotel but a complete bunch of money grabbers. No way on earth is it a 5 star. Irish standards in a good 4 star would wipe the floor with the attitude of this place
Great private location away from Algarve crowds. Beautiful palm tree pools. Five star relaxing stay!
Not enough sun chairs around the pool & some broken ones left there. Gym open only at 10am Should be open at 7am for training before breakfast
Overall the hotel was good. Although, in my opinion it is a great 4 (rather than 5) star hotel. The breakfast is good.
The spa facilities are not the top of the notch - some things did not work in the massage pool (you have to pay 10 euro for the access); and 5 euro fee for the swimming hat is a bit too much. The staff is not the most polite and welcoming in the world.
Great location Food and drinks good Rooms excellent
Beds, pillows Sun loungers majority broken
Lounge Bar and Al Fresco Restaurant with great views on surroundings & sea Very good food at restaurant Very friedly staff Huge breakfast buffet Nice beach close to hotel
not enough sunbeds at pool prices at lounge bar quite high
Rooms were spacious & soundproof, with nice views. good linen quality, local beach with private entrance from hotel just a few mins walk although a lot of stairs down ( in case you have a disability) friendly helpful staff. Underground parking.
The pools ( which are round)didn't seem to filter & as they are very busy....it's a necessity . The a la carte restaurant situated in the midst of the large gardens has no toilets, so leaving your table to walk back to the main building is not acceptable. The menu was poor & the service was SO fast, we had 3 courses in 45 minutes!! No very relaxed!! Sunset bar & pool bar, understaffed . The hotel is 5 star, ( just) but do keep in mind..it's very large...so rather hectic. Massage was very weak.
The Spa is of good quality
Very noisy between rooms as you can hear neighbours conversation ! Also not very clean for a five star.
The location of the hotel 5 min. walk to the beautiful S. Rafael beach and the exterior area are clearly the strengths of the hotel. Good breakfast. Just don’t expect a 5 star hotel, as it isn’t … and you will have a good holiday’s week.
We've been in this hotel twice last year and loved the quiet moments nearby the swimming pool - this year the experience was quite different as it is much a mass hotel with no one helping to manage the deck chaises in the swimming pool that some guests reserved with towels (from Saturday night to Sunday morning there wasn’t even no one to take it out … imagine how it was on Sunday morning!) Buffet is awful and you will hardly be able to have a decent meal there. Wifi is very, very bad. It looks that there isn't a Manager in charge for the hotel or apparently he/she is to busy to do that: when we did the check in, I took my time to write a personal letter regarding a disappointment with the hotel promotional politics – well, when a client does it, the least you expect is to have an answer (whatever the answer is!) … surprisingly we are still expecting for it after 5 days!
The spa facilities were one of the best I have been too, the room was amazing, best room yet, junior suite ticked all the boxes, views couldn't of been better. Took my partner for her birthday for 4 nights stay, didn't say anything to the hotel but they must of seen her date of birth on check in, when we got back to our room after sunning it up on the amazing beach very close to the hotel, the staff left a bottle of brut on ice along with a cake, what more can I say but very thoughtful, this was one of my best short stays so far and would not have second thoughts booking this hotel again or recommending to family and friends.
One or two of the staff a bit grumpy at the restaurant with sea view on our first night, they did not connect very well with making you feel welcome, especially after a long days journey. This was a pity because the food was great, views over the sea amazing but let down by one or two staff being a bit abrupt , this prevented me from eating back at this place(shame). Apart from that the rest of the staff of the hotel was very helpful and cheerful most times.
The hotel was quite, serene , comfortable and luxurious. I loved my stay.
Hotel too big and loooong corridors.
