Beautiful hotel with bar, restaurant, lounge with live music, and stunning view of Funchal. We loved our stay very much.
Over all very nice and convenient. No major pain points.
Minor issues: - The room card didn't work for the door outside from the parking lot, so I had to walk around the hotel to get in. - Very poor sound proofing from the hallway to the room, so the hallway music could be heard at night. - It would be great if the kitchenette in the studio came with some small packages of salt, pepper and oil. It's currently a bit tricky to use it for cooking.
- close to the city of Funchal. It is really easy walking and also it is a nice and safe way. - good and very rich breakfast - friendly staff - actually a lot of people complained about the elevators in other posts... they were not special but they were actually ok... nothing to complain about - easy parking - Garden with spices etc. for cooking - Next time we are in this area, the Four Views would certaintly be a good choice again
- the lights in the appartment were a bit difficult to switch on and off... the way the switches were sorted out just did not make sense and the room atmosphere did not really get cozy. Whatever - we could live with this :-) - Nothing against the hotel: but most other guest were for some reason often not very friendly at breakfast and always in a hurry... (hey... take it easy... you are not in Germany here :-) - in the basement a fire exit door was often locked at night. I did not feel very comfortable about this.
the view from the hotel and the location is very good. The staff is very helpful and nice. Spa treatments are very good and comforting.
Beds are two twin size beds made to a double bed. Many hotels do this, as a couple we find it very uncomfortable to have a seperation between the two beds
I loved the view from the bedroom, the staff where really nice to us. Specially at the bar. Would definitely go back.
I didn't like that when we got there, we where told that the indoor facilities were closed for the week. Even though they gave us a chance to go to the other hotel to use the same facilities, it would've been nice if they had told us before arrival.
Spacious room with fabulous view of the sea and the city below. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Walk down to Funchal
Beds quite hard Room very warm even in November - perhaps we didn't master the aircon! Walk up from Funchal!
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Quiet hotel with excellent views of Funchal.
The hotel definitely delivers amazing views, we were very happy with our room on the 10th floor and the facilities that were included in the price.
The general target group was retired German couples hence most written information was provided in German. The breakfast was far from 4*, the variety of fresh fruit and cheese was particularly dissatisfying. Also the low quality of coffee and little variety of tea. There was an extra surcharge of 5 euro for the use of indoor pool.
spa very clean very good quality-price lots of choices for breakfast polite staff nice view
staff, hotel, restaurant, breakfest, view, room (mountain view from the room and see view from the breakfest room)
the walk to the center is a bit long mainly when we need to walk up on the way back but this location allows the splendid view so we didn't complain about the walk
room in front of a tree...
View Location (close to city centre) Breakfast buffet Pool (view) Atmosphere
We told receptionist to fix the radio in the bathroom but nothing happened :-(
The room was marvellous, we will never forget. We felt at home. Very nice balcony, kitchen, jacuzzi, living room... all in one place. A bottle of champagne to welcome us. The kitchen was so cute small but with all we needed. The amount of money we paid was nothing for the quality of the room. We were speechless. The swimming pool area is very nice. The breakfast was great.. even champagne we could drink. The location was great we could easily walk for the city centre and then catch a taxi to come back for less than 4 euros. We will comeback for sure
Spa was very expensive; buses only start at 9am on saturday so we had to go to the airport by taxi and pay almost 40 euros. The hotel shuffle bus could be more frequent as well even though t was not far from town.
Good location, specially if you have a car. Great parking space, spacious rooms, with comfortable mattresses. We had to leave very early in the morning, and they antecipated breakfast hour for us.
Breakfast could have more variety.
Facilities were excellent. Staff very helpful. Couple of problems soon sorted out. Nice pool bar with fair prices. Had the evening buffet on our first night but you need to be hungry to do it justice. Breakfast first class with lots of choice. Views of Funchal can't be beaten. Tough climb back at night but only 6 euros for taxi back from old town at night.
- Breakfast was amazing... it basically has everything - Very well equipped and comfortable room - Everyone was very friendly and helpful
- I booked a double bed and got a twin bed - The maid knocked on our room on our checkout day asking us to hurry because there was a client waiting.. it was VERY unpleasant - On the other hand ... on the check in they only let us check in at 14:20 pm...
Facilities were great - pool, rooms etc. Breakfast always good quality and plentiful. Staff were very helpful. Hotel very clean.
The air conditioning in our room was broken on arrival. First attempt to fix failed. The only uncooperative member of staff that we met thought it was reasonable that we just cope until morning on a very hot room. We had to have a row to get get to sort it out. Once it was done though all was well. Long, steep road, with narrow paths only route to town.
Location, views, rooms
The staff and breakfast was nice.
No wifi in the room as they say. Need a cable to your laptop to get internet. They didnt had the room i booked. 99% of the guests are from Germany so dont expect much English. I payed more then it was worth. Expensive hotel
Building, staff, buffet, position. An amazing experience
Overall not a bad experience. Good size rooms. Friday night BBQ was fun. Nice to have a mini fridge in the room.
We are young and fit (30s) and found the walk up the hill from town annoying after a couple days. Nickel and dime you on EVERYTHING. 50 cents for a map?! Are you serious? There's a better one for FREE at the tourism office. $2.5/ day to use the safe? Really? Why? Some staff helpful, others couldnt care less. A/C could work better.
Good value, clean and spacious, great views and lovely breakfast.
I don't think guests should have to pay to use the indoor pool and tea and coffee should be replenished in the room without charge.
The view was excellent even from the 4th floor and the room itself was very spacious but cozy.
The elevators where very slow and sometimes didn't work at all. Also there was some fire alarm testing which was very noisy and it was on for quite a long time. The hotel location is up on the hill and there weren't any sidewalks to go to the city so we had to walk on the road and it took a lot of energy.
Buffet breakfast Room Friendly staff
To walk to hotel without transport is hard as it is located on a hill
