The villa itself is gorgeous, the view from the sitting room is fantastic. Breakfast perfect.

I hate to repeat others, but private parking would make sense, public parking which is just leaving a car on a curb of this the steep and narrow street is a m atter of pure luck. Wi-Fi is strong enough only close to he room the door.

Central to everything ,walking distance 10 minutes at most. Quaint and cozy as if you were in someone's house . Decoration very classic but well done.

Bathroom has odor of sewage that was covered by air freshner . Breakfast only as of 8:30 and not of the best quality(sweet part and breads). Not good parking... Only space for two cars at an awkward angle so if thee are more tourists you may be out of luck in busy season Limited English and not very friendly to offer info unless specifically asked

Beautiful spacious suite with fabulous old world marble bathroom and private balcony.Very attentive host. They held our bags while we waited on check in time and had them in our room when we arrived.

There wasn't much we didn't like. Breakfast is basic but nice. Tea in the rooms wasn't nice but honestly quite faultless. We'll definitely be back

We very much enjoyed our stay in beautiful Sintra and in the lovely Sao Miguel guesthouse. The house-keepers and owners were extremely friendly, pleasant and helpful. The evening meal we took twice was delicious!

We loved the house, the garden, the décor, the food and the attentive and friendly staff. Breakfasts were delicious and could be taken in the characterful dining room or the beautiful garden. We hope to go back.

Parking on the narrow street was worrying at times but OK in the end.

This was our first trip to Sintra and hadn't realised the chaos of visitors and traffic. We found São Miguel with a little difficulty but in a perfect location for visiting Sintra. The Guest House is within a few minutes walk of the town centre, albeit up a steep hill. Parking is on-street although we managed OK to find a space each time by the hotel. The room was wonderful although the bathroom was a little cramped. The hotel has its own walled gardens, a library and superb lounge for the use of guests. We stayed for 3 nights and the welcome and hospitality of Joanna and Lilliana together with owner Philip was outstanding. Breakfast was as you would expect of this class of accommodation and Philip made suggestions on restaurants and made the reservations for us. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and family.

The Sao Miguel Guest House was a highlight of our trip to Portugal. The house is cozy, intimate, comfortable and interesting. The rooms were appointed perfectly, the breakfast was delicious and the staff and owners could not have been more gracious and helpful. The owner was engaging to talk to and Joana and the staff went out of their way to help us with our various travel plans. It was a tranquil place to return to after a full day of sightseeing. It's location is a very easy walk into town or restaurants. Sintra is amazing, and the Sao Miguel Guest House begins to feel like your home away from home. I would highly recommend it without hesitation for everyone; it is perfect in every way.

Everything. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. Felt like we were visiting friends.

The only hard thing was finding it the first night. No signage and tiny alleys to drive on. But very picturesque. Parking was an issue.

Sao Miguel guest house was central, the staff was very nice, the decoration was beautiful, breakfast was delicious. If you can have breakfast at the garden, it was a relaxing way of starting the day. The suggested restaurants were delicious: praia da adraga and meia tigela! Don't miss the oportunity to stay in this place.

Choosing Sao Miguel Guest House was an easy decision after looking at the pictures online. We stayed in the suite which is actually several rooms: an entry way, a large gorgeous bedroom overlooking the garden, a dressing room, and a luxurious bathroom with a soaking tub and separate rainshower. Very comfortable. Breakfast each morning was fresh, delicious, and very well presented in the downstairs garden room. Suggestions for adventures or dinner were spot on. So were the helpful directions. We felt welcome and well cared for. Fell in love with all of Sintra and it's people.

Absolutely everything. Our three night stay was fabulous. We certainly will return, at least once, this year. To do yourselves, and Sintra, justice, you need at least a full week. São Miguel is definitely the place to stay. So convenient for everything, too.

    Leaving.

Beleive me São Miguel Guest House one of the best that we stayed in. The most cosiness that we saw. We travel a lot so we can compare! Wonderful interior, personal garden, amazing view to the castle. Hosts of this place are marvel. They made everything for us that our stay became a fairy tale! They helped to reserve one of the best restaurants for the romantic dinner, planned an excursion in horse carriage to go the Sintra gardens. Were nice and careful. Sintra and São Miguel Guest House are the most warm memories. We recommend this place to stay at the wonderful Sintra.

Mostly everything, very comfortable and very hospitable

Nothing really, but a small TV in room would have enabled us to keep up to date with the news and events, but then again its absence made the time there more relaxing.
