I loved the building and the views, the palatially tall doors, verandas with a view up the hill to the Moorish castle and the gardens, the swimming pool and hammock. The atmosphere was very homely with a nice understated welcome from the staff.

The problem is the access to the town on a tight road, particularly on a busy Sunday when the cars were bumper to bumper, with not enough room to walk. On the way back, we realized we do do a lot of the return walk through the park which solved a lot of the problem!

We loved this old manor house and its lack of modern facilities was not a problem given the size of the room and the beautiful gardens. The staff/owners were really helpful and very kind.

We were kept awake for the greater part of the night by the sound of a small dog? Walking about upstairs and the furniture being moved. Breakfast was adequate.

the hotel garden and swimming pool, the quiet location and stunning views from the terrace. proximity to sintra village, excellent restaurants and food. Hotel service and all round good experience. The live pair of tortoises in the car park fountain were a real surprise as we thought they were fake, check them out!

nothing to dislike when you review against the price of a 3 day stay in July.

A beautiful location in an old house in a green valley overlooked by a romantic castle. A lovely swimming pool set in natural surroundings. The helpfulness of the staff.

The dangerous road with no sidewalks into the town centre. We ended up taking a taxi back to the hotel even though it is not far.

Liked the fact that it is an old Portuguese casa but it is a bit run down and in need of attention.

    Breakfast was basic and unappetising.

Incredibly nice place with warm and welcoming people. We felt like we came to visit our relatives that live far away. You can see that this place has its history and we liked it a lot. We enjoyed the swimming pool, it was very refreshing after walking around main sightseeing places. From any point of view great choice to stay in Sintra!

Lovely setting with gardens, terrace and pool. Hostess was very helpful. Restaurants nearby.

Google directions were wrong--hotel is on up the hill at the very edge of Sintra proper--quite far to walk into town.

the place has a fantastic atmosphere. rooms are large, relaxing and peaceful. this is old school accomodation, not too fancy but a bit like visiting grandma's old manor house in the countryside. The freezing cold 25 swimming pool was a fantastic bonus for us lap swimmers.! overall it was the best place we stayed at in portugal

Absolutely stunning, charming hotel!!! The location is not central, but this plus complete silence and tranquility. The hotel is next to the tourist information centre and train staton. To the Central Square and the Royal Palace to walk 10 minutes through the beautiful garden or on the streets with beautiful views. The hotel has its own pool, veranda with tables on the street, children's entertainment on area. The atmosphere inside of fine vintage. Antique furniture, double curtains on the windows, desk lamps: all very warm and welcoming. The rooms are large, spacious, and some are two windows and balconies. View as if from a window of God: on the beautiful green mountains, Moors Castle...))) The bathroom is very clean and nice, with a bath. Breakfast is rich - croissants, toast, eggs, muesli, yogurts, olives, fruit, home-made jams and more. A variety of drinks - tea, coffee, juices only fresh, and even excellent hot chocolate! Breakfast takes place in a large cosy restaurant, where softly classical music! This is very nice, and feel as if we have breakfast in bliss!))) It impressed... Staff are amazingly helpful and friendly! It seems that the staff graduated from the school of good manners))) This hotel really relax and inspired! The most important recommendation is - we want to go back undoubtedly!!!

The staff and the grounds of the hotel were great. It is about a 10 minute walk into the historic centre of the town and, as a result, is peaceful and quiet.

Beautiful setting; lovely clean pool, great little garden places to sit and read/listen to the birds or just relax; very friendly staff; plenty of breakfast; endless hot water; easy access to walks & sights. You feel like you are part of the canopy of trees.

Uphill walk from the station/town (a taxi/bus is possible) although the views along the way are lovely so we just took it slowly (15mins)
