The Sofitel was one of the best hotels in which I have stayed in many years of traveling abroad (from the US). It was certainly the high point of my stay in Portugal in terms of hotels--that is understatement. I highly recommend the hotel for all of the categories which you have designated above.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. The standard rooms are smallish but very comfortable. The Ad Lib is a great restaurant if you want to dine in. The staff are very professional and welcoming. The only negative is that the standard room is a little on the small size, particularly the bathroom but I guess this is the price to be paid for such prime location and it is 4 star as opposed to 5 star.

The hotel is very good in terms of overall quality. Service is excellent. Breakfast is not only of high quality as it is beautiful. Wireless internet for free. Rooms are very confortable.

The location is excellent and the staff a friendly and professional. Breakfast and parking are quite expensive and turn the eur125 deal into more like eur185 per night. I guess I would choose a different hotel on another trip.

We stayed at the hotel during a 3-day city trip. The hotel staff was fantastic, without exception. We really enjoyed the service, hospitality and enthousiasm of all staff we met. Truelly a top class service for this top class hotel. The hotel is located in the city center and everything is within walking distance and even the remote area's (such as Belem) are within easy reach (metro, tram). Best price / quality ever!
