the hotel was a tranquil haven in the middle of a busy city the staff were very helpful recommending restaurants and things to do breakfast in the courtyard was a delight and although the bedrooms were not big they were very comfortable and catered for all your needs |

The location is exceptional, but the rooms are small, noisy and crammed with furniture. Beds hard and narrow. Room not 100% clean |

excellent location close to the castle S.Jorge / nice rooms (even though small) noise in the new building part, mainly due to the parquet floor of the hall / breakfast buffet choice could be enhanced |

Fabulous setting in the walls of the old castelo - a superb, quirky hotel that is just great for thiose who wish to stay somewhere a bit different 2 different taxi drivers did not know their way to the hotel and had to ask directions to find it |

Very comfortable and well located. Highly courteous and helpful staff; they not only responded to our requests for assistance they volunteered to be helpful. Peacocks in the gardens of the Castle, which is nearby, are very loud and seem to arise early and retire late. But even that added to some extent to the charm of the hotel. |
