Efficient, friendly staff. Excellent position in centre of town, with beautiful sea views from all parts of hotel, especially from our room. Good buffet breakfast included in price. Hotel is beginning to show it's age and the rooms, although spacious, could do with modernising. Indoor pool is rather difficult to access and no pool towels provided. |

Location is fantastic - literally on the beach but at the same time right in the heart of all the local restaurants. Couldn't be better. Disappointed that the 'full English' was only available every other day, as the breakfast alternates between uk (bacon, egg, beans etc) & German (frankfurter sausages) options. Also had regular drain smell in bathroom but was able to keep it at bay by plugging up all plugholes! |

the location is fabulous it's just a little noisy in the evenings with people talking and screaming on the beach at 3 am. Also the hotel needs upgrading, in terms of airconditioning and decor, it's stuck in the 60 's |

The hotel is excellently located with a very good terrace restaurant. The beach location is not spoilt by noise despite the popularity of this area. |

Staff were friendly without being intrusive. The location is its best feature without a doubt. The smoking ban seemed to be applied in an arbitrary fashion-why ashtrays in a no-smoking room?Breakfast did not change -tinned fruit in Portugal?! |

The main benefit of a stay at this Hotel is that the position directly on the beach cannot be beaten. It is a fairly rare attribute for a hotel on the Algarve to be so well sited and gives the guest the ability to access the beach with minimum effort of climbing up and down steps on sides of cliffs etc; You are equally well placed for the old town therefore great savings on taxis etc; Therefore 5 stars for position both town and beach. The sad part is that the hotel is not loved enough and needs updating and refurbishment and upgrade on the food served, this together with happier, smiling, kinder staff would lift this hotel into a gem. Sadly it appears to be stuck in a rut. You have to work very hard to get on the kinder side of customer service but it should be the otherway around. We are not there under sufferance but as paying guests and courtesy and a smile cost far less than any degree of refurbishment. The other problem [and this is nature's] is that the sea even in July is freezing cold. The hotel should really start by upgrading the pool which during our stay was not functioning and in any event looked uninviting. as a year round hotel I feel this facility needs urgent attention and sympathetic/intelligent upgrading. I would be happy to return in future only if these failings are addressed. |

Location, Location, Location. This hotel cannot be faulted for location. The staff were very friendly. The old town is on your doorstep to the front and the beach on your doorstep to the rear. We loved our stay and would love to return again (and most likely we will). |

We enjoyed wonderful views from the 6th floor in the room we have occupied now on three consecutive years' stays. The service and food was excellent. There was a bit of confusion at check in. We arrived early and left our luggage with the reception. On our return we sat for an hour waiting to get our keys. The person on reception did not recognise us and so we should have approached the desk. We are elderly and thought he would remember us from earlier on - our mistake! |

Fantastic location on the beach, with balcony looking out to sea. Large cafe on ground floor with huge choice of icecream. Wonderful coloured glass over the 5th floor bar. Proximity to restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Difficulty in finding a parking space, 10 - 15 mins walk to parking. Breakfast was disappointing, tinned fruit salad, poor bread and rolls. The hotel is a bit dated, could do with a refurb (but keep the glass!). |
