Casa do Rio / Tavira Inn  

Proche d'une voie de chemin de fer, Très mal isolé et bruyant. La piscine était sale, aucun équippement disponible dans la chambre comme la tv ou la climatisation à moins de payer encore plus. Résultat je trouve çà très cher (70€) compte tenu niveau de prestations.

I liked the room, large, clean, comfortable bed good quality linen, spacious bathroom. Location is good ie 7 mins walk to the centre and yet quiet and on the edge of town. Sebastian was willing to answer any questions or direct us but as we had been there before did not need much information.

Room was dark, not much light which meant it stayed cool even in 30 degrees but if we were there more than four nights would have liked his two upstairs rooms with their own balcony but they were a little more expensive. Also as others have stated there are no facilities to even make a coffee in the room, though there is a small fridge. A small area with some cutlery and crockery for self catering would be good.

Quiet and peacefull. Close to the village center. The owner is very nice and helpfull.

No room service, no air conditioning and no tv.

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay in Tavira, mainly due to the peaceful location of of the hotel and it's easy access to everything that we needed. The location of the hotel is just up the river so you are a little away from the noise of the town, but it is an easy 3 minute walk into town. If you hire bicycles, it is a gentle flat ride to town and back. The interior decor of the hotel makes you feel that you are in the real Portugal, with beautiful furniture and artwork. The hotel owner is a very hospitable host, always helpful in making sure that you are comfortable and that you enjoy your stay in Tavira. Oh, and the sea- water swimming pool is excellent. Thanks for a perfect holiday!

It wasn't really obvious when making the booking that there are no restuarant facilities in the hotel. So you have to go out for all your meals, including breakfast. However, you soon realise that this is actually an advantage, because you can choose between many cafes and restuarants, and have breakfast at any time that suits you. We missed not having a kettle to make a cup of tea or coffee when we woke up in the morning. Next time we would stock up the fridge in the room with some fruit juice and a few bottles of wine. So a couple of wine glasses would be useful too.

I have spent a very pleasant week at the Tavira Inn. Nice cool rooms with shaded windows part covered by lush green plants. Calm and relaxing with only a short walk to the bars and restaurants. I hope to return next year.

We booked this because of the good reviews but our experience did not match other peoples. This hotel is under the aircraft flight path beside a busy road and has a railway line overhead! The room is only cleaned once a week in between you sweep you own floor and empty your own bin. You are given one towel each and that is changed every four days. There is no reception and the owner is around some time in the day if you happen to be there then. When we arrived we were briefed about how sound travels in the building and told not to put a glas down on the tiled surface as it would irritate other guests etc. There was a sun umberella. By the small pool but you must be responsble for taking it down etc. Everything was the responsibility of the guest and not that of the owner. It was a bit like being in a hostal there was no service.

A independência do espaço, podem passar-se dias sem nos cruzarmos com outros hóspedes e nem mesmo com o "anfitrião" (dono do hotel).

A proximidade da linha férrea (apesar do charme que dá em termos de enquadramento paisagístico, o barulho dos comboios é incomodativo). Também o facto da água da piscina ser muito fria (talvez pela pouca exposição ao sol).

La localización es estupenda para conocer la zona de Tavira y alrededores,esta en el casco urbano pero en una zona tranquila y Sebastiao,el propietario es un hombre encantador,saldras de allí con ganas de volver.

Gostámos bastante da piscina de água salgada e do quarto em si, a varanda com vista para o rio é muito agradável.

O preço pareceu-me exagerado para o serviço que apresenta, contudo a nossa marcação também foi em cima da hora.

Guest house à beira rio com uma piscina salgada maravilhosa. Excelente relação qualidade-preço. O dono e anfitrião Sr. Sebastião é muito simpático e dá dicas preciosas sobre os melhores sitios em Tavira.
