The cleaning staff washed the marble stairs, which are slippery enough when dry, and left it wet, without even marking the spot with a "caution" sign. Due to this blatant negligence, I fell down badly, nearly ruining our trip. If I were an elderly guest, I'd probably have to be hospitalized. I even considered suing, but decided against it. Also, the room was NOT very clean because the floor is made of carpet, even in the bathroom. The floor around the toilet smelled very bad, it's probably simply impossible to clean that floor well. The shower was also bad, with oscillating water temperature which turned flat out cold once. The street can be quite noisy, specially if you're in a lower floor.
The room is OK, nice decoration (they said each room is decorated differently according to a theme related to the theater). The building has elevators. The location is very good, at the very hearth of the Chiado neighborhood and minutes away from Rossio and Figueira squares (steep streets, though, but that's Lisbon). The staff was very helpful, except for a big fault (read on).
