Ocean view, Room size and balcony, Hotel grounds. Breakfast staff attentive and friendly. Parking facilities. Front desk service could be more attentive and helpful. Outdated design and furniture of room. Shuttle service to town too limited especially during the evening and night. Complimentary detailed local map on arrival would be useful. Changing carpeting in the hallway during our stay was unpleasant. |

Large bedrooms, good selection for breakfast, nice indoor pool and plenty of sunbeds for outdoor relaxation. Spa treatments too expensive and too few spaces available. Dinner dance ended too early 10:20 pm - immediately after finishing meal. |

Everything...Food buffets were absolutley fantastic. Breakfast and Dinner were terrific.. Everything you could want. Salad Fish meat to start soup 5 0r 6 choices for main with ver and loads of everything. Pudding to die for at least 12 choices and cheese and biscouts Rooms were fantastic waiters were wonderful and could not do enough for us. In fact we had been once before and will be going back soon. |

great cliff top location - close to town - excellent gallo restaurant - music every night bar prices too steep - 7 euros for a single local brandy is outrageous - the bar is poorly patronised - cut the prices and get more in |

Although full, you would not have realised it - there was so much space - at times you felt you had it all to yourself. The staff were always available and helpful, but never intrusive. I'd like it to be cheaper so that I could afford to go back more often! |

The setting was beautiful, the room was large and we had a view of the ocean from the balcony. The restaurants were good but pricy. The hotel is trying to be a timeshare and we were invited to events that were associated with that although it was not disclosed in the invitation, we chose not to go. The beds were very firm, not comfortable. The clientele was a little more mature than we would have liked. We enjoy this type of resort but with a little less formality. |

The location is perfect. You can easily walk to the center and the old district of Funchal while you enjoy the scenery and the variety of restaurants and shops. The design of the hotel marvelously combines ocean and rock essentials. The pillows were uncomfortable. |

Vanuit kamer met balkon op de 8ste verdieping (805) mooi uitzicht op zee en naar de haven met schitterend vuurwerk met Nieuwjaar. Het specialiteitenrestaurant Il Gallo d'Oro maakt zijn Michelin-ster echt waar. Met een aanbieding is het 4-gangen menu (plus 2 amuses) ook nog betaalbaar (33,50 p.p. als je 3 avonden of meer gaat eten). Mooi overdekt zwembad, dat overgaat in openluchtzwembad (ideaal als het in de winter wat frisser is). Het openlucht zwembad beneden (Blue Lagoon) was begin januari 2010 in reparatie wegens stormschade. |
