The Yeatman    

The Yeatman is well worthy of it's 5 star rating. A superb hotel in every way and run with precision & polite efficiency by a well trained fully bilingual staff who have pride in their jobs and their employer. Comfort abounds throughout.

My only adverse comment is directed at Booking.com who failed to warn us when making the booking that making an early table reservation for dinner on Saturday night is a MUST. When we tried to book a table on check-in, the restaurant was already fully booked!

the wifi did not work properly at all too weak in the room and you had to re-enter the pass word every 10 minutes, annoying ! direct environments of the hotel not ideal

OverlappingmMusic in lounge bar area. One a number of occassions two different sets of music were playing and conflicting in the central area. A mere detail but irritating.

The view is exceptional. From any room at the hotel (including the swimming pool), you get this amazing view of Old Porto! When the weather is nice, you can just laze around on the terrace all day long, watching the boats on the Douro... Everything is just great, from the room facilities to the pool and the breakfast, not forgetting the exceptionally kind and friendly staff. This hotel feels both like a home and a museum - you can wander around and explore its endless nooks and crannies, always finding something new and surprising. We've stayed at the Yeatman three times already and we are definitely going back!

The restaurant is fabulous. The rooms are very comfortable and lovely.

The walls are too thin, we were woke up on Saturday morning because the waitress was cleaning next room.

The Yeatman is probably the best Oporto Hotel (without being located in Oporto, but on the other side of the Douro River, Vila Nova de Gaia), the Highlights of the Hotel are: The architecture - All rooms and main areas (restaurant, bar, interior pool, etc.) have a stunning view over Oporto City and the Douro River The location - Although not being in Oporto, you can get to the main turistic areas by foot in no more than 15 minutes walking or if you prefer 5 minute drive. The restaurant - one michelin star Hotel with an excellent wine list and wine pairing options, make it a must, even if you are not at the Hotel The SPA - Being an Wine Hotel, the SPA has the same philosophy and delivers excellent treatments and massages

There aren't any important flaws. The only consideration to make is some delay in service (like for example to get the car from the garage or to get the baggages from the room), which in any way stained the overall excellent opinion on the Hotel

Intimate atmosphere of exceptional quality. Absolutely stunning views across river to Ribeira and the city of Porto. very pleasing room with the most comfortable bed. Very reasonable value.

Impossible to think of anything we didn't like.

The place and the view were fantastic. The restaurant is a must, good food execellent service, speed and attention were the best. Very good choice(82?) of wines by the glass even good ones that are not usual in Portugal by the glass.

Breakfast starting only at 7:30. It is too late for those that want to travel to Porto. We need to cross the river early in the morning so I had to skip breakfast, and I hate to take it in my room.

Everything was perfect! One of the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen! Room fantastic, the view, the swimming pool was magic. All the details were well kept!! The elevator, the fitness room, the brekfast. Is a real luxory hotel. Perfect.

We loved absolutely everything. The location is fantastic, the staff are excellent, the food is superb and our room was beautifully furnished. We look forward to returning again and again.

The amazing view of Porto

Michelin starred restaurant was disappointing

The fantastic view of the river and of Porto, even from the bed and bathtub. Lovely outdoor terrace, to fully enjoy the setting. Don't miss tasting Porto wines. The hotel has even 150!!! years old Porto to offer. That is like drinking a piece of history!

Large and confortable rooms. Beautiful view to Douro River and Ribeira. Excellent service.
