Hotel decor is dated, scope for a revamp in rooms and other areas. Outdoor pool could be heated more.

Relaxed atmosphere obliging staff. Sea views, a good base for the area. Choice of fruit and breads for breakfast.

Poor cooked breakfast. Dried up bacon, frankfurters out of a tin and eggs three ways is not very inspiring and is easy to improve! Mushrooms? Cooked tomatoes? Portuguese sausages? One small toaster is stupid for the numbers using the restaurant. Indoor pool is too small for more than say 6 people and gloomy to use.

I liked everything about the Tivoli hotel, accommodation, the helpful staff, the views, the food and where it is situated not too far from the town. I would not hesitate to visit again.

The hotel is tired and overdue for a refurb. Our room was damp an smelly.

The view from the room was absolutely stunning; and all the facilities at the hotel. It had everything we needed as a family. I definitely recommend this hotel.

I thought the rooms looked a little tired; it needs a little "freshen up" to do.

Close proximity to the town, but not in, Carvoeiro

We only had two niggles. One was the airconditioning - room 509 - which really did not seem to work, even thought a maintenance man did try to remidy the problem immediately they were advised. Secondly was the television. Extremely old (not flat screen), nor were there any movies etc to rent - just terrestial chanels. Disappointing for such an hotel.

Pleasant and helpful staff. Reasonable well equipted room, with good bathroom facilities. Easy access to Carveiro however just far enough away from town to not be disturbed by noise at night.

Breakfast was a poor buffet. Enough of everything but not of a good enough quality. Wife and I ended up just having a little fruit (some of which was tinned - odd for the area) and toast. There was no free wifi anywhere and I was charged 4 euros an hour to download e-mail which actually took about 30 seconds. I had to pay the 4 euros 3 times during the week for a total required usage of less than 2 minutes, left feeling ripped off. I was also charged 15 euros for a sfe key for the week, which I felt was very expensive and ought to have been free.

The location and views from the hotel are excellent. The terrace overlooking the pool and sea is very relaxing and the hotel has a feel of being spacious and airey

The great spacious clifftop location. Good sized room. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. Good car parking. Good breakfast.

Very little - just the maid failed to replenish some items a few times, but soon rectified once reported. Usual shortage of hangers in wardrobe.

Great value, in a super location.

A bit dated in terms of decor, but that doesn't detract from the hotel really. The staff make the most of the facilities and the place is always clean and comfortable.

I thought it was overpriced. The rooms were nice, but not luxurious, the bathroom was quite dated and tired. We only had one of each teabag, coffee etc - and had to ask for more - but it was good to have a kettle. The hot breakfast options were mostly cold and I didn't think it was good value for money. We have been to other 4 star hotels in Europe this year and I would say that all were better value and a better standard. The location is it's main feature.

Nice location and spectacular surroundings. Short pleasant walk to small town which has many nice restaurants. Staff very helpful when asked for assistance.

Having stayed at the Tivoli Almansor about 15 years ago with our children, we were delighted to return to this hotel. Returning on our own this time, we were fortunate to be able to stay in a Junior Suite, which was comfortable, but very much in need of a complete refurbishment in view of the cost paid - this was not value for money. The wall and ceiling tiling in the bathrooms for example needs to be thoroughly cleaned. In 15 years the hotel has not changed one bit.

The rooms were quite big. Very clean and with beautiful views.

The A/C was a bit noisy.

The location is perfect . You have almost a private beach and it is only few minutes from the center .

Very old rooms , we always had to deal with flies in our room , bad smell on thebalcony,mini bar is empty and very old , no free wifi , bus shuttles are not enough only 3 per day .

The location was amazing, we had sea view rooms and the view was truly memorable. Excellent staff and spa massage service on top of cliff was excellent.

Rooms are dated and we had problems with air conditioning on the first night, which was promptly dealt with. Really should not have to pay extra for room safe.

The hotel would improve if it goes through a refurbishment process, mainly at bedroom level.
