Location, location, location. In the historic center across from the National Palace with stunning views of Sintra from the restaurant and great views of the Palace from our room! The rooms and hotel were very comfortable and the buffet breakfast was very good.

Excellent location for exploring Sintra, relatively inexpensive, off street parking, air conditioning and a nice balcony on our valley view room. Not enough staff to keep up with the modest amount of guests. The entire decor of the hotel is worn, dirty and old. Internet access requires an additional fee of something like 12 euro per night, which I find to be unreasonable given the fact that this establishment rates itself as a four star accommodation. I would recommend staying at a b&b in Sintra, but if you can't find one the Tivoli will certainly do - just don't expect much.

Large comfortable bedrooms with balcony. Very good choice of breakfast and lovely view of countryside from dining room. Evening meal enjoyable and relaxing. Staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable seating in bar area and again wonderful view. Only downside was the outside of the hotel is not particularly attractive.

We have stayed to times in this hotel. Maybe the best breakfast buffet in Portugal. Soft classical music in the dining room. Situated right in the middle of historic Sintra. If parking space outside is occupied, the hotel has its own garage.

We liked the location opposite the palace and being able to park right outside the hotel for free. The view from the breakfast room was great. Good breakfast. We thought that the wi-fi was expensive.

The hotel is very comfortable. All furniture is frayed a little, but this fact can not spoil smb's pleasure, because that's a decrepitude "with a touch of aristocratism". The hotel is in the centre of Sintra - opposite National Palace. Main touristic office and the stop of buses (3 lines, which make it possible to move between attractions of Sintra) are close to the hotel. There is free internet (cable, not wifi) in the buiseness center on the ground floor. Wi-fi was not free; its price was very expensive.

The service was above and beyond. Francisco Leitro was the best front desk manager that I have run into. From helping mail packages, to storing suitcases, to giving suggestions, to welcoming us warmly and remembering our names, he was great. The location is fantastic and the views are amazing. Great value all around

The ocation and the attentive staff. The lobby bar lounge is great. The air conditioning did not work. It was only blowing warm air and when asked a hotel person only indicated that it was at Max already and offered a fan. When a hotel is advertised as having air conditining I expect it to work.

Location is perfect to visit Sintra, Pena, Los Mourous... The personnel is very nice and welcoming. The hotel is clean. If you like decoration of the end of the 1970' you'll like the hotel. To me it shoud be redecorated! Beds are too hard. Breakfeast is basic.

The valley view from our room was spectacular - mountains topped by two castles. The location in the heart of the old city is a real plus because we could walk wherever we wanted to go. The room was very comfortable and beautiful. We had a wonderful dinner around the corner at Tulhas - grilled fish followed by fresh fruit with a delicious tawny port. Idyllic! Underground parking was a big plus.

the location is very good right in the downtown. very friendly and helpful people to the reception free reliable internet. (not sure if it was just a temporary offer) although very spacious rooms the comfort inside did not looks to be appropriate for a 4 star hotel. meaning that the furniture looks pretty old
