Uma Casa à Beira Sol  

What can you say about a beira sol, its rustic, its beautiful, its supprising, its a maze of nooks and crany's, no room or apartment is the same or has the same outlook, its friendly, its quiet. its not a hotel its a beautiful rustic b&b on the edge of lagos. it has its little faults but you will not find many gems like this place for a holiday base. great little pool. plants and flowers everywhere. you may not want to pay 10 euros each for breakfast so go to the supermarket. the apartments have kitchenete, (check with owners re rooms facilities ) the local beach ANA is about 500mts, its fantastic.you can walk into Lagos 15 to 20 mins. there is a little Portugese resteruant called paraiso just past sofa shop on left in new development serves great food.

The rooms are placed in a beautiful garden complex, staff is very friendly and seems to make a real effort out of providing you with a personalized experience. although located a bit far from the center, the hotel is in a very quiet area, in walking distance from a a very nice beach and cliff sightings (Ponta da Piedade)

The room was large but the lighting was terrible. The room was at the back of the hotel, on the ground floor and there was little privacy. Really liked the small patio just outside the door.

In the bathroom, while seated on the toilet, your legs go under the sink! The lighting fixtures were inadequate.

The guesthouse is a very funny compound of rooms in a wonderful garden. The owner is very kind and friendly. Breakfast is lovely! Room was spacious.

Some of the public spaces could really use some tidying up. But aopart from that it's a really nice place to stay!

Very warm and relaxed welcome (no form filling, just refreshments on the terrace!), stylish and comfortable room, beautiful gardens and delicious, varied breakfast. It is tucked away in a peaceful setting, with a cosy atmosphere; some of the rooms/apartments are quite close together, so you do depend on other guests being considerate, but it seems the kind of place where that is a fairly safe bet. It's near at least one beach (walking distance, albeit involving a bit of an ascent on the way back) and some beautiful coastal scenery, which can be seen from the nearby cliffs. Teresa & staff made us feel very welcome and were discreetly attentive (and Teresa spoke good English, as unfortunately we hadn't had time to learn much Portuguese before we went). We would have no hesitation in staying there again.

Some people may not like that the accommodation isn't right in the centre of town, and up a bit of a hill, although we enjoyed the stroll to town which I think took no more than 15 mins (and there are some restaurants quite nearby, and a Spar supermarket halfway into town). It is also next to an apartment complex, which may get busy in peak season, but just guessing (it was very quiet when we were there at the end of March). There is a blot on the landscape nearby, in the form of a big concrete shell of an unfinished hotel (but you don't see it from Uma Casa, only from the road when you're coming or going). Our room had a radiator, which I think is controlled centrally, although I suppose it might be switched on on request (we didn't have to ask - it was on low on one of the cooler nights we stayed). Really can't think of much to complain about!

Spät abends anzukommen und dennoch liebevoll in einer sehr romantischen Anlage begrüßt zu werden, lässt den Urlaub gleich richtig beginnen. Ein wahrlicher Ort zum Entspannen, unweit der Altstadt Lagos und zwei kleinen wunderbaren Stränden, die zwischen den bekannten Algarve-Felsen liegen. Bei einem Verwöhnfrühstück, serviert auf der Zimmerterrasse, inmitten blühender Pflanzen starten wir in den Tag. Einziges Minus war das Bad, das sehr klein und unserer Meinung nach auch renovierungsbedürftig war.

Die Familiär geführte Anlage.Das unkomplizierte Check In/out. Der Absolut fantastische Garten der mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail und einem begnadeten Gärtner gepflegt wird. Grosse Zimmer. Meine Frau nannte Nr. 9 die Hobbithöhle. Es fehlte lediglich die runde Eingangstüre. Wer viel Sonne in den Zimmern will sollte im Obergeschoss buchen. Jedes Zimmer ist individuel eingerichtet mit nicht Alltäglichen Einrichtungsgegenständen. Es stehen kostenlose Parkplätze in unmittelbarer Nähe immer zur Verfügung. Man kann zu Fuss zum Strand laufen oder in die Stadt, jeweils etwa 10 min. Das Frühstück kann man jeweils am Vortag buchen und wird im Garten serviert. Die Hauskatzen sind sehr zutraulich aber manierlich. Fado abende 2 mal pro Woche gleich neben an.

Wunderschöne, mit ganz viel Liebe gestaltete Anlage, in der man sich nur rundum wohlfühlen kann. Appartments in einem eher naturalistischen Landhausstil mit viel Platz und allem, was man braucht. Liegt auch näher an den schönen Stränden von Lagos als die Innenstadt. Zum Zentrum ist es aber ein ordentlicher Fußmarsch.

Sehr gute Lage um sowohl zum Strand als auch zum Flanieren in die recht hübsche Innenstadt zu gehen. Besonders geeignet wenn man als Familie mit Teenager unterwegs ist.

Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit!!! Der Garten traumhaft. Wir hatten die Wohnung T1 mit extra Schlafzimmer, die Einrichtung ist zwar rustikal, aber sehr gemütlich. Kaffeemaschine und Fön vorhanden (steht glaub nicht in der Beschreibung), auch Geschirr etc.reichlich. Es wird täglich sauber gemacht und auch Handtücher werden gewechselt, was wir von anderen Apartments her nicht gewohnt waren. Sehr ruhig. Die Lage am Stadtrand, nicht weit von einem sehr schönen Strand und der spektakulären Ponta Piedade. Zentrum ca. 15 min. zu Fuß. Wenn man sich den Plan vorher auf google.maps anschaut, findet man auch ohne Beschilderung leicht hin. Man muss beim "Ambiance Village" nochmals in die Sackgasse hinein abbiegen. Parkplatz kein Problem.

Wir waren über Weihnachten dort. Es gibt leider keine Heizung im Bad. Es war nicht so schlimm, weil das Wasser wirklich sehr heiß ist, aber dann ist halt alles sehr feucht vom Dampf. Zu einer etwas wärmeren Jahreszeit sicher kein Problem.

Ruhige Lage trotz grosser Hotelruinen in der näheren Umgebung ( Golfino und Bauruine) Lage zur Stadt und Strand ausreichend. Ausgezeichneter Frühstücksservice. Zimmer verfügte über zwei getrennte Terrassen.

Rundbett als Doppelbett im Zimmer gewöhnungsbedürfig (Durchmesser 2,00 m) Zugang zur zweiten Terrasse nur durch ein Fenster möglich.
