Guarda is a really nice town and the views from the hotel were great as it is on the edge of the Serra de Estrella. The room was clean with a fab big bath and a balcony. The breakfast was lovely and as the restaurant is at the top the views are great. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

Great breakfast, excellent parking, nice towels, spectacular view, comfortable room, great value.

Silence, quality & price

Excellent modern hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Not too far to walk to the town centre, although quite a steep climb up. (Take a taxi from the rail station) Excellent Buffet Dinner and Breakfast

Great sized rooms with lots of light and good views. A convenient hotel for making a quick early morning drive to Spain. Bar and restaurant area very comfortable. Garage facilities excellent.

The buffet was uninspiring. Stick to the a la carte.

The thickness of the walls separating the rooms are thin and someone talking on the phone can be heard from the neighbour.

Beautiful property on the hillside below the historic walled city. Although inexpensive, I wouldn't classify it as a budget property. The rooms were great as were the bathrooms - everything was very high tech. Our room had a nice balcony with a view over the valley. Parking was readily available along the street in front or in the covered garage below. The staff was efficient and helpful. The breakfast, served in the restaurant at the top of the hotel, was buffet style and included eggs, cereals, numerous types of bread, yogurt, juices, etc.

Nice location, but it does require a walk (uphill) to get to the historic sights. There is some parking in the historic area though. The historic center is not very big, so the walk is not much even if you do walk up from the hotel.

Warm and friendly reception, excellent service, wonderful dinner menu and buffet breakfast. Hotel garage staff warned me that I had left my car door unlocked!

I have stayed at Hotel Vanguarda many times. Each time the service is excellent and I like that it is very eco-friendly. It is located outside the city center but within walking distance.

Hotel bem localizado (acesso à Serra da Estrela e CC Vivacci bem próximo). Limpeza óptima. Pequeno almoço bem razoável. Funcionários prestativos e atenciosos.

Wi-Fi paga e nem sempre funcional.

Très bon accueil. L'hôtel est très propre et d'un rapport qualité/prix particulièrement excellent.

Rien à dire, si ce n'est qu'il n'y a qu'une seule chaîne tv en français.
