Everything was great
Great rate Great pool and wellness facilities
Breakfast wasn't up to standard Room smelled a bit like smoke
The location was fairly close to the town centre with only a 10 min walk. I was happy with the underground parking which was tall enough for a 4x4 with roof rack. The outdoor pool was quite large although only 1.20m deep. The A La Carte restaurant offered very well prepared quality food with friendly staff. The superior room we booked had free wifi and a nice balcony with a view of the river.
Spa pool was very small with few water facilities and the glass pool surround offered very little or no privacy.
Piscina, SPA, pequeno almoço.
We really enjoyed the kind, efficient, polite and friendly staff in that hotel. The receptionists were excellent.
This is my second time staying at the hotel and once again the accommodations were very enjoyable! The hotel is clean and elegant. The staff is wonderful and welcoming, helpful and friendly. Rooms are neat. Great breakfast. The old university and the city center of Coimbra are not far from the hotel, a 15-20 minute walk.
The only problem in the hotel was that there was no free WiFi service in the rooms, only in the reception area
The receptionists, especially Sara, who could not have been more helpful. The improved atmosphere and view in our second room. The excellent bar service on our first day The amazing centre of Coimbre.
Having to change room because of the smell of drains in the first The long walk between the hotel and the city centre. The non-existent bar service on our second day
the pool, the bed, the pillows
Leaving the hotel after a two night stay.
Location. Brown unwelcoming common areas and rooms. Breakfast, poor quality and service. We went for breakfast at 9.00 and everyone of the 50 or more tables had been used and uncleared. We had to ask for a table to be prepared. They were very slow to replenish and we had to ask for bread for the toaster, milk for the cereals and for pastries.
Nice staff, good bed, two swimming-pools.
Some 'low-cost' features which were not really four-star like: thin walls between the rooms, no chair of the right height for the desk, no real orange juice at breakfast (but a lot of fresh fruit), seats and tables at breakfast somewhat resembled a modern youth hostel. Anyway, at the price I paid I do not complain.
Modern Hotel with recent facilities Fado entertainment
We stayed as a family of four for 4 nights in August 2014. We arrived well after the booking in time but the room wasn't ready and had to wait for over an hour before we could finally go to the room. After some heavy prompting we were offered some complementary drinks. We booked a family suite and were underwhelmed by the room itself. Adequate but the view is the blank wall of the adjacent hotel and must be one of the few rooms with no balcony. Weren't planning to spend too much time in room so not too bothered. Staff in hotel are pleasant enough but the hotel is seriously under-staffed and as result the service is terrible. The queues at reception are pretty much always there at any time and on one occasion it took over 1/2 hour to just get a parking ticket validated. Everything has to be done at reception so even to get pool towels you have to queue. In order to get drinks at the bar you have to chase the staff out of the restaurant as the bar is not permanently manned. The service by the pool is terrible and staffed by what looks like a school leaver, who whilst pleasant, is totally snowed under by the work. At times, she also appears to be staffing the indoor bar at the same time. Our bedroom never got cleaned one day and there was no explanation for this. There are also problems with the hotel itself. The car park is a good example of how not to design a car park and 5 point turns are required just to get out! It's an insult to charge clients 7.5 euros for such poor facility, The hotel was full in August but the number of sun beads near the pool was artificially kept low causing people to battle for one. Plenty of space available so no reason for this. The pool area is a good facility so it's a shame that it's spoilt by bad service and bad management. Food quality is good (if you can get it) but overpriced to match the four start rating.
Facilities of hotel Ease to get into the city and also to take a train to other areas
very noisy. the room was exactly above the kitchen and the noise was heard through the night.
Modern hotel fairly close to the centre of the town
Breakfast was fairly basic.
The indoor and outdoor pools were lovely. Pleasant walk to centre of town. Coming back along river you need to go past hotel to cross rail line. Fabulous inexpensive cafés on corner 100 metres from hotel.
Having to pay 5 euros a night for wifi in room and pool towel access at front desk ( you have to return them there). Would be nice to have seats on balcony.
quiet room comfortable bed hammam swimming pool
The family suite was spacious. One of the nicest we've come across and we've travelled the world. The staff had made the sofa bed for us so it was ready when we arrived late at night. The staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast had a nice variety of food. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The location and the staff was good.
Over priced in all aspects for the quality of stay and food. No complementary coffee in the room. Although the room has a big balcony there was no place to sit or a small table to enjoy the outside view. The pillows were very high and uncomfortable which made it a very difficult to sleep.
- In and outdoor swimming pool. - Large bed, bathroom and bedrooms. - Big choice of breakfast.
Swimming pool outdoor was rather chilly.

A modern hotel very comfortable
A little bit far from the historic center
Front desk staff was attentive and fast with their service. The hotel looks very modern and detailed.
Room - we were upgrated by Inês into a room with a view, however someone amoked in there. The odor in the bedroom and bathroom eas to strong for us to stay. Not Inês fault, but housekeeping should have placed this room out of service until the smell cleared out. Inês promptly changed our room. Restaurant - too loud. The decor looks fantastic but the tiles and layout helps to elevate the noise level when someone across the room talks an you can hear everything on the other side. We chose dinning in so we could relax but the room was full of children running around the tables and screaming. No attepmt from staff to give us a quiter space. FOOD - my wife chose a pasta but then she decided to switch, so no problem because I ate her meal too. Well, the second dish, salmon, came in raw. They made a big deal about the cooking time, it would take too long, but there ahould be no excuse for satisfying a guest. The wait staff was running around looking rushed, stressed out and confused. We were greeted well by the manage but after tht it eas a roller coaster. For a hotel restaurant they hould be more attentive and relaxed. We had choices outside of the hotel too and didn't pick them. Back to the salmon, we immediatelly returned ot and asked for room service instead ecause the dinning room was way to loud with children and staff running around the tables. Room service came in quick. Back to the room, we could hear every conversation from the room next door. The sound travels through the walls too easy for a new hotel. I called the front desk, forgot the reason, but they never picked up after calling 6 times in a 1-hour space window. I had to call room service and ask to be called back by the front desk. Same thing occurred the next morning. Maybe a customer service refresh training would help.
Comfort, location, the view to the river, breakfast, pool, Superior rooms have parking included.
Payed WiFi in rooms. Should have more loungers in the pool area. The pool seemed bigger in the pictures, it's only 1,20m deep. The breakfast pancakes were served cold. The room was a bit hot even with air conditioner on.
