Good location near the beach with ready access to several beach restaurants. Fifteen minute walk into Lagos. Quality of rooms and facilities were very good. Staff were excellent - helpful, friendly and courteous. The bar is a very large brightly lit room and not particualry comfortable. In the evening the bar was understaffed which was untypical of the rest of the hotel. |

This hotel is perfect, I dont know why it has only 4 stars. From the hotel design and infrastructure, to the rooms and all the facilities, we had a great time staying here. The pool could be heated a bit, it was ice cold (end September - 28C and sunny outside) |

The property is very relaxing and comfortable. The outdoor pool is very spacious and plenty of lounge chairs available. The junior suites are very big and we especially liked the 2 bathrooms and 2 closets. Great stay and look forward to another same time next year. Would appreciate it if the guests had use of irons and ironing boards in the room. We had a few garments that we wanted to wear but couldn't because they required ironing. |

I liked the room. It was very modern and had pay TV. I also liked the pool area and the food and drinks that were at the bistro by the pool. Some of the reception staff were not very helpful. The gym should be open earlier in the morning and/or later in the evening. Opening hours are not long enough as many people would like to do other things during the day rather than going to the gym, therefore the gym should extend its hours of operation. There should also be a few PC's for guest's to use. I know that you have wireless, but some guests might not have their laptops so may need to use a PC. This is easier than having to go into Logos late at night to go to an internet cafe. There should also be printing access for guests. |

Standard of finish and colour scheme - red/black/grey/white - in the rooms and carried throughout the hotel. Buffet breakfast. Nearness to beach. Pool area. 1. The bar, although well finished and decorated with stunning fashion photos, lacked warmth and was not a place for a quiet aperitif or nite-cap. Dreadfully loud 'music' in the corner every night, a large TV showing the inevitable football match and two pool tables (!) clacking away incessantly, made it a most unrelaxing space. Only the Tuesday night musician was worth listening to and he kept the sound down. 2.Reception area where one could not get any information whatsoever about activities and sightseeing around Lagos. They didn't even have a stamp to send a postcard. 3.Buffet dinner which didn't match breakfast and had a small staff working under pressure. Although on the wine liist, no half-bottles available one night. |

Newly opened and modern hotel. Facilities excellent and at this early stage being well maintained. Large and uncrowded pool area. Separate young childrens play area and pool. Room serviced daily with fresh towels. Buffet breakfast plentiful and varied Hotel bar lacking in atmosphere and although rooms serviced daily sometimes this could be late in the afternoon which was inconvenient |

Very nice swimming pool They charged 7.50 euros extra for the room service (we ordered a tosta mixta of 5.50 euros) by mistake. They forgot to make the room, and when we got to the room at 8pm we had to tell and they didn´t like it at all because it was too late. Poor service. 10 min far from the beach. |

The staff were very friendly and worked very hard. The location is right oppositie the beach great sea view. It is new and has missed a few things that will raise it a notch or two. No shop to buy anything and none nearby so a taxi required. Entertainment is very poor in the evening very limited day time for the kids |

The pool area was fantastic, there were plenty of sunbeds and it felt very spacious. Very good location for the beach. Unfortunately it was very windy when we were there and the umbrellas were a nuisance because they kept flying off, but there is nothing you can do about that. |

We booked a Junior Suite, therefore had plenty of room. The large king-size bed was comfortable. The Dunas Beach facility (run by the Tivoli Hotel) was fantastic, this is between the Vila Gale hotel and the beach, we had dinner there once, but lunch 4 or 5 times - great food & service. The Restaurant Don Sebsatiao in Lagos old town is absolutely superb - try the roof terrace. The room we booked was described as a Junior Suite with Frontal Sea View, the first room that we were given faced across the U shape at the block opposite. The sea was only visible by going to the patio windows and looking acutely left. Back to reception, where the staff did the worse thing possible - they tried to defend the indefensible and say that all rooms around the U design have frontal sea views. When i asked to speak to a manager, I was immediately told that none were available, I then asked who was in charge and the receptionist told me that she was! On the basis that i was not going to let this matter drop, our room was changed to a room with a Frontal Sea View - For a hotel that is trying to be a 4 star Superior, this episode was unnecessary. The safe in the room was left locked by the previous occupant, we were told that a technician would be sent up to resolve, it took 6 phone calls and 24 hours to achieve a working safe. There is no children pool but lots of children. Activities take place on the lawn in the middle of the U, and include children playing football every evening (the screaming shouting is horrendous), disturbing the peace for those sitting peacefully on their balconies, sunbathing by the pool or attending Yoga class nearby. Reception would not take bookings for taxi's over the telephone, insisting that you physically went to reception (because the taxis were there within 5 minutes), the reality was that the taxi's took 15 to 20 minutes. The hotel has only one bar open in the evening, which again does not discourage children from playing pool or mis-behaving.To sum up; the Vila Gale Lagos is a new modern hotel that needs to find its identity. It cannot be all things to all people - the management need to come out of their offices, open their eyes and react to what they see. |

Spacious pool /sunbathing area, comfortable modern rooms Teething problems with air con. Already some equipment/doors broken, flags round pool area broken. Not everywhere had signs eg poolside toilets/changing.poolside .changing room has no seating or hooks, clothes etc have to go on wet floor. Not enough info on the facilities eg golf tennis spa. Indoor pool is in spa and is chargeable. I think the room was overpriced |

Very conviniently located at short walking distance from beach/seaside for a very reasonable price. Rooms are too noisy. The walls/ceilings are not sound proof. |
