Quinta Isaura features access to a shared outdoor swimming pool in the outskirts of Odiáxere, 6 km from Lagos Marina. It offers 1 and 2-bedroom apartments with free Wi-Fi.

In a pink-and-white town house in the city walls of Lagos, Casa Sousa offers affordable rooms with private bathrooms. The charming planted terrace offers a traditional tiled BBQ.

Staff, pool, bar area, shuttle
Unsure of the apartment servicing. Had to ask each time for more toilet paper, towels etc.
Very spacious apartment in a quiet part of town, with a few restaurants and stores within 5-10 minutes.
The beds were a bit hard, and the shuttles to town are very infrequent. Walking works fine, but it's 20 minutes to get to any beach or the town.
Loved these apartments. The staff were outstanding - the friendliest and most accommodating we have ever come across - nothing was too much trouble. The kids started asking on the second day if we could come back next year.
The beds are very hard! There was no sweeping brush and pan in kitchen and no clothes line on balcony (these last two were just minor things but would have been useful!)
on day of departure we were given a room for showers etc very dissapointed with the actual room, hardly no furniture and general condition was appalling.
Apartments were relatively quiet . Two big pools. One more so for kids the other a lot quieter with more adults. About 15 minute walk to main town. Really nice staff and food is good if you want to eat in apartments
The Pool, the big room, Air conditioning, Location
Lack of daily cleaning
The staff was very nice. You could borrow hair dyer , ironing machine. They helped you solve any of your problem and request. The apparmant was very big in a quiet neighbourhood. It was 15 minutes walk from the center and about 15 minutes walk from Batata , Dona Anna beach. Vilabranca's shuttle bus could take you to another beach ( Mos? )and to the center as well.
The restaurant was very slow. The wifi did not work in the room. Perhaps the shuttle bus should go to the center more often.
• The apartments are in an excellent location in a residential area away from the town centre. Upon arrival we were given a map with the walking route highlighted but I would recommend taking the opportunity to go direct into the town as you then get to see some of the attractions you would otherwise miss. The walk itself is about 15 minutes to the main street – downhill. Aim for the mini-golf. The return journey does involve a slight climb, but unless your party has elderly people or very young children the walk is a great way to see the town and also exercise after some nice meals. • There is a free courtesy bus to two of the local beaches and the town centre with fixed times during the day. • There are two excellent beaches - Dona Ana and Port Mos within easy walking distance – again if you are reasonably fit. The courtesy bus visits them. • We had a great balcony with a good open outlook – by virtue of the situation of our apartment. • There is an excellent mini-supermarket directly opposite the gates of Vilabranca. They bake bread, rolls and croissants through the day which are very nice. All the usual groceries and supplies are available at very reasonable prices. Especially the wine and beer ! We found it an inexpensive way to sometimes sit in our balcony with food purchased from here for a light lunch. The staff were always pleasant and spoke good English. • Other supermarkets are nearby – one is situated about a further minute past the above one. Another one is beside a roundabout about 5 minutes walk away. On one cool morning we walked about 10 minutes to a UK-sized supermarket which had a fantastic range of produce in it. Obviously if you shop there you will need to consider getting a taxi back with bags. • The apartments were very spacious – we had a two bedroom one with an open lounge dining area, a kitchen, entrance hall, two bathrooms, sitting balcony and airing balcony. Both bathrooms had tap-supplied showers and bidets.
• Breakfasts are only served from 10am. This really does limit what you can do in the morning. We had planned on using this service but decided on the first day to buy our fresh breads and supplies at the adjacent supermarket. I do not recall seeing anyone eating breakfast in bar area ( it is not a formal restaurant, more like a cafe ). • The general appearance of our apartment could be improved. I know the Portuguese economy has suffered recently – there is some evidence of abandoned apartments and construction sites near the beaches but for a small outlay the management could at least make these apartments more presentable. For example, a number of door handles in ours were faulty – the airing balcony one actually came off in your hand. The door banged continuously when it was windy because it would not lock. The kitchen light switch had exposed wiring. Taps dripped continuously – what a waste of resources considering the arid climate. The bathroom door and frame had rotten and damaged wood at the bottom. For a small outlay these could all be easily rectified. The walls themselves could also be repainted as they were stained and discoloured in places and you could see where previous light fittings had been. • There are two tennis courts at Vilbranca but they are closed. There appeared to be large weeds growing on them. This is a shame as they could easily be opened and rented to guests as an extra service and revenue stream. • A bar service at pool number 2. • In our kitchen we were unable to get the gas hob to work, and resorted to using the single electric ring once. It would be helpful if instructions for the gas could be provided – for safety. • Noise ! Our apartment was located on the first floor above the reception. The guests in the apartment above us were extremely inconsiderate. At 2am on the first night we arrived we were awoken by scraping furniture, laughter and loud voices that went on and on.
Excellent location, convenient shuttle bus to and from centre and to and from beaches. Gorgeous setting with little paved stone pavements and lovely flower bushes that lead round to the apartments. Stunning pool and loungers, very peaceful. Staff accommodating. Little shop nearby which I loved, very friendly staff and everything you need. (Two/three minute walk away) Great setting. Very affordable.
Beds and rooms are quite basic but all you need and the price was so affordable can't expect anything else.
Extremely spacious and well equipped apartments on a family friendly complex with two pool areas. The mini-market opposite the entrance sells wonderful fresh fruit & vegetables and bread.
The uphill stroll home from town at the end of the evening :-/
The staff are brilliant, and apart from the negative changes mentioned opposite, vila branca remains a nice place to stay, with a good minimarket on the doorstep. All the sunbeds are new and comfortable
The room has become more basic since our last visit in 2010, no dressing table, stool. chair, and 2 bedside tables with draws have been replaced with 1 bedside table with just one draw inbetween the beds,
Vilabranca is conveniently located a very short drive away from Porto de Mos and Praia Dona Ana. There was nowhere to eat at Dona Ana, but Porto de Mos has the lovely 'Anotonios' which the driver from Vilabranca helpfully told us about. The staff were SO friendly and accomodating. They all had a very pleasant manner and did all that they could to help with anything we asked. Even when it was not time for a shuttle to go to the beach, it only cost 5 euros in total to get there so it wasn't a bother. The rooms are a great size. If you have five in a room, the pull out couch is very comfortable. The pools are very clean and there is a second pool which is definitely worth locating if you want a more quiet area.
We wanted somewhere that was good value for money, with friendly helpful staff, a pool and good access to the beach. That is what we got!:)
The rooms and the facilities for self "management", vicinity to super-market type stores, the pool.
The cleaning could be done more often (or maybe just daily garbage removal would suffice from this point of view). Also, as others reviewers here, I can't understand why there isn't any dishwasher provided, because many tourist buy it and leave it... The alternative is to eat only non-oil food, meaning the dishes can be washed with water only. The taxi service is a bit over-priced, considering they do not provide a receipt for this.
We spent 5 days at Vilanranca and everything was amazing...staff, apartaments, swiming pools and the bar. Good location to city center and the diferents beaches. We did everything walking....GREAT....many thanks
I have not complains
The size of the apartment was very good with a large balcony due to corner position. Lounge furniture was very nice and TV with several English channels.
As others have stated beds were a bit hard with only 1 pillow. Also noise from people in room above due to furniture scraping on tiled floors.
My friend and I stayed for 6 nights. For location it was OK because we spent most of our time on the beaches and took advantage of the bus transportation provided. The hotel is a 20-25 min walk from the city center. We did this every day. The apartments are spacious.
1) The extremely uncomfortable beds and apartment furniture. We woke up sore and unrested, which can be frustrating when trying to relax on vacation. As I reread reviews more thoroughly, many mention the uncomfortable beds. It was just as difficult to unwind on the couches. Plus the TV signal kept cutting out. 2) You have to pay for internet, and it was inconsistent, even after they had people come fix the connection. Plus we had to pay 12 Euro for each device we wanted to use. 3) Costumer Service. Within the first hour of our arrival, we noted the discomfort of the beds/couches and poor internet. We addressed this with the front desk and asked to change our reservation, as we wanted to change hotels (since we were to stay for an entire week). We had to wait until the next morning because there was no manager working. When she was called the next morning, her only solution was to change to a pool view room that had 'better internet connection'. However this didn't address our main concerns, and she kept referring to the policy stated on Booking.com. She was very inflexible. Since we had to pay at check-in, before even seeing the room, our hands were tied. The manager wouldn't budge at all and we felt this was unfair. Not the best way to start our vacation.
Apartment and food
Didnot change the towels everyday. I had to go and ask at reception when the apartment would be cleaned.
Nice pool, not too loaded. Big apartment. Close to shop, 15 minute walk to the center and also too buautifull beaches Dona Ana and Camillo.
Nothing in particular.
Have two teenage boys and they just loved the pool area with snooker table etc
This was my fourth time staying at Vilabranca and would recommend same -however I felt they could do with a fresh dab of paint and a general tidy-up on the tennis courts etc - they just looked a bit tired this year !!
House-keeping service was very limited - appears to be significant cut backs in this regard This was not explained on arrival.
Clean room with well equipped kitchen. Nice pool. Close to small supermarket. Quiet area. Within walking distance to town centre.
Wifi is not free. In room safe costs an extra €15 to use. No dishwashing detergent or washclothes supplied. Kitchen rubbish not emptied on a daily basis. Wood rot on bottom of bathroom doors.
Staff very friendly. Wi-fi good value Food in restaurant- Quality and price Location
We have stayed at Vilabranca on a previous occasion and the staff were very helpful and the complex is well laid out and swimming pool and surrounding gardens are immaculate.
The furnishings were basic and uncomfortable, lighting was a couple of spotlights on a wall and in the bedroom there were no bedside lights for reading. It is a 25 minute walk to the centre of Lagos so probably a bit too far out if you don't like walking. A taxi is about 5 euros.
The location and the pools. We stayed at the Giramar apartments which is close by and preferred it.
The apartment we had was fairly poorly equipped but it depends on the owner and whether you get lucky or not.
Peaceful location (apart from seagulls),nice walk into lovely old town. Lovely spacious apartment.
Not enough sunshades around the pool in the yellow zone, although there is a nice lawned area which is shaded. Very noisy seagulls which kept going all night! Beds not very comfortable.
