Viva Rio

Superb location. Bus station across the road but not at all noisy or intrusive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room light and airy with our own good sized balcony. There is a delightful roof top terrace with adequate furniture, over looking the river(ideal for sun-set drinks) A communal refrigerator can be found on the ground floor. Good free WiFi. Many excellent eating establishments within easy walking distance.

The rooms were simple, clean, modern and stylish. The beds were comfortable and there was a fabulous 'balcony' adjoining our room, which was in fact more like a huge terrace. The open top terrace was also fabulous, I wish I'd had more time and I would have spent an afternoon up there reading. It was incredibly close to town and very affordable.

There were a lot of flies in our room when we first arrived, but we soon cleared them out. Would also be nice to be able to have a double bed option.

The welcome from the owner/staff, & helpfilness, spotlessly clean & the location overlooking the river in the centre of town, superb!

Lovely renovation of a tiny guesthouse. The roof top deck is fabulous.

The room was not clean and they did not cleaned it better after our complaints. Several times there was no hot water. The furniture was very simple The hotel is noisy.

Location in a small missing port, not a resort. Simple rooms with simple tasteful decor. A most friendly and helpful host in Miguel.

A kettle in the romm or lobby area would have made it easier to make a cup of tea!

It had a definite backpacker feel to it, which is OK, but the hostel itself was NOT worth the price - far too expensive (at 40 euros for a twin room.) Pay a few euros more per night and you'll get a much better place.

Nice hotel, great localisation, very nice and helpful owners, who really cared we got everything we need. Good energy :)

Very relaxed atmosphere. Miguel was very friendly and helpful with local information.Situated in a quiet location by the river and close to the bus station. Would recommend Viva Rio.

This hotel is greatly located, owner is lovely and extremely friendly. Only few rooms, so is very silent, you can use terrace as well. Already recommend to other. Will be happy to stay next time as well :)

We had a lovely stay at Viva Rio. Miquel, the owner was very welcoming and friendly. It was very central in Tavira which is a lovely arty town with lovely bars and restaurants on your doorstep. It is only a short(cheap) boat journey to an island which has fantastic beaches.

This hotel was good for a budget stay.

It was not worth its price although it was a high season.

Very well situated, near everything, the river, the buss stop, and bars and shops. Clean and atractive rooms and nice people running the hotel.

The air condition was placed right over the bed. It would have been nice to be able to make a cup of tea or coffee in the room or in the hallway. The main door was often locked and nobody in the entance and we only had one key.

Good lacation nearly bus station,small room ,very clean and comfortable.

Our welcome was very warm and friendly, parking was easily accessed nearby and details of the town and surrounding areas were offered by the owner. The roof terrace was a great place to relax also.

This is our 3rd stay there & we will stay again next year, the staff are very friendly & helpful, the location superb, overlooking the river & so central in Tavira, with everything within a short walking distance, including resturants, bars etc. The views from the rooftop at this hotel, of Tavira are breathtaking & it was great to go up there & relax & enjoy them. Our friends, who travelled with us were Very Impressed & said they would stay there again. We have recommended this hotel to our other friends & look forward to returning next year.

Lovely place ,staff very friendly....shame about the wifi costing 2euro per 15mins.

Stayed only one night but the accomadations were great. Very clean hotel and the location is perfect to enjoy the town of Tavira. Anything you need is close. The management were top notch and even arranged a taxi to Seville the next day. We were impressed that they contacted our driver on route to see if we were ok and that everything was fine. I would recomend this hotel to others.

I liked the location. It was walking distance to old town, restaruants, shopping. It was also nice to bike around. We had a very relaxing time here.

It did not have breakfast. Though there was a nice place to eat breakfast near by.

Opposite bus station and close to old city centre and river.

Room smelled bad. Plastic furniture which could break easily. No one there to check outso we now have the hassle of paying with extra overseas costs etc from our bank. The towels were not changed after a day. Cleaner was bad, just moped the floor. No plug for bath. Internet was not dependable.
