Good location, close to shopping del sol. For breakfast we ordered an omlet which was made as asked. Lots of art on walls.

Room did not smell clean. Pigeon living on airconditioner unit made constant noise. The lock for the door didn't seem too secure. The view from our room is an empty, abandoned, overgrown lot.

I arranged my trip to Asuncion on a very short notice. Mr. Javier was very prompt on contacting and confirming the reservation, and offering his help to pick me up at the airport free of charge. Very friendly and with a big smile, Javier introduced the whole place to me (even the maids) and his family. Very great and warm welcome! The place is quite interesting, very stylish and I must say quite uniquely decorated. Very clean, big comfortable bed, the best shower I had in last 3 months of my business trip down here in South America and good breakfast in the morning. It was very nice to feel like at home for a change after staying in many hotels throughout S. America. No hassle about paying security deposit as soon as you arrive (which is quite common in hotels around) makes you really feel welcome and pleasant. Haven't had a chance to try out the pool as it was cold those days, but it was quite relaxing to chill next to it and do some computer work. Mr. Javier was very open for conversation, had many pleasant and interesting talks with him, and even more, he actually helped me to organise a business meeting with one of his friends and, as it seems, helped in my business endeavours big time! Much appreciated! Highly recommended place in a nice safe neighbourhood (close to a big shopping mall) to stay if you want to feel something different than just another hotel, feel warm, appreciated and welcome! Definitely made my trip much much better, and will come back again when I'll be in Asuncion! And not to forget, Mr. Javier helped me with buying the bus ticket and also woke up quite early as 530am to take me to the bus station from where I continued my trip to Iguassu Falls (yes, free of charge). Thank you!

Everything fabulous, I liked it very much!

This is a former home, converted to a charming boutique hotel, filed with art. It is in a very nice and quiet neighborhood in Asuncion, within a short, pleasant walk from Shopping del Sol. The hotel also is convenient to the airport. Javier, the owner, could not have been more friendly and helpful. Not only did he take the initiative to send me an email prior arrival (in English) offering to pick us up at no cost from the airport, he actually interrupted his Saturday night to drive us to the airport at 10 pm. Plus, he allowed us an extra late checkout (10 pm) without any charge to accommodate our late flight! Rooms are al uniquely decorated (each dedicated to a particular artist) with all modern conveniences. Since it was quite cold the day we were there, I was especially pleased to be able to turn heat on in my room! Pool looked nice, though it was way too cold to try it out. I definitely highly recommend this hotel, especially for convenience to airport, nice neighborhood and highly helpful owner and staff.

    Liked everything!

The Arthaus is a large house in an upscale older neighborhood in Asuncion. The hotel is very clean and conveniently located close to a major shopping mall (about a $10 cab ride from the downtown area). The hospitality and service at the Arthaus are "second to none". Javier, the owner, personally picked our family up from the Asuncion bus depot very late in the evening and at the end of our stay drove us to the airport for a very early flight. If you enjoy boutique hotels, which allows one to get to know more about the local customs and a greater interaction with the local people, we would definitely recommend the Arthaus hotel.

In 50 years of travel, our stay Arthaus Hotel was truly exceptional. Javier Restrepo, the General Manager, went way beyond helpful to give us an exquisite experience. Always answering yes to our requests, including giving us a 5am ride to the airport. The hotel, formerly a home, is tastefully decorated, clean and very comfortable. Our room and private bath as well. The pool and garden are.....well, perfect! . Arthaus gets our rating as 11 on a scale of 10. Our sincere thanks to Javier for our delightful time there.

The only thing we regret is not having planned more time to stay in Asuncion at the Arthaus.

My work takes me all over the world, traveling 2-3 weeks a month. Of all my travels and all my stays this has been one of the most hospitable and wonderful experiences. I was diverted to Paraguay after my visa for Brazil had expired. The owner took such great care of me. Even taking the time to personally contact the consulate in Paraguay. With his help I was able to easily get my visa and complete my work and travels. He was extremely kind, truly some of the greatest service I’ve ever received. In addition to the great customer service the facilities were very nice. The room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone!

It was like being at your home, very quiet.

The price at it was not the final price I was charged

This is the kind of place where you feel as a guest, not just a customer. A combination of tasteful decor and excellent service. It has everything you can wish for away from home?

Cannot even think of what could be improved on...
