- would be nice if the room had a window you could open.
Iolanda was a fantastic host. She tried so hard to help us even though we didn't speak Spanish. Her advice to find the train to cross to Argentina saved us heaps of time. Being able to spend time in the back yard relaxing in the late afternoon with snacks and a beer. Large room with ensuite. Although the location was away from the centre of town it was close to the much cheaper shopping area near the bridge to Argentina. Close to Maxi Burger - where we ate every night!

The only thing is it's a little hard to find, but the taxi drivers all know it, our's even asked if that's where we were going before I had a chance to say. Without luggage it's an easy walk.
Yolanda is a wonderful hostess, with a beautifully kept house and garden. Our room was immaculate and very comfy. And the home cooked meal was exactly what we needed!

It is a bit of a walk to the bus station and beach but that means its a quiet neighbourhood.
Garden is perfect for relaxing in. Our double room had quiet aircon and lots of space. Definitely take the offer of homecooked food as it is better and more original thananything you will get on the costanera. Yolanda is a marvelous host and was a perfect introduction to paraguay.

The kitchen was connected to our room with a door that may have been locked for the occasion. Price far too high for the quality of the accomodation.

- Toilets are not separate from the shower in the 7 bed dorm... - Location is off from the center & beach (20mins walk) - price/value better at other hostels in town
- Friendly host! - Decent wifi

If you are looking for something IN the center maybe you might want to search for something else. However, distances are not extremely big. You can either walk, take a taxi or a bus.
Excellent owner. She's very friendly and she gives all information needed. Good breakfast

Slow WiFi (0.6Mbps dl, 0.3Mbps ul) which seems to be the problem in most hotels we saw in South America. WiFi wasn't working most of the time. 2 km from both the center of the town and the beach. The hostess doesn't speak English (but her daughter does, who is sometimes there). Somewhat expensive for younger pairs because the only double room there is with 5 beds, it's optimal for families with kids or 3-5 people groups rather than just pairs without kids.
Very friendly hostess, makes you really feel at home as if this wasn't even a hotel but you were visiting a friend in the country. Everything is ideally clean. Feels cozy. The hostess helped us with the laundry.

Nothing to say!
Señora Yolanda is a very nice and warm-hearted old woman. We really felt at home. You can use her private kitchen, sit outside in the cute garden or relax in the hammocks. The hostel owners and employees are super honest and helpful. We forgot our camera in the room but noticed it when we were already in Asuncion (6 hours away). Very tranquil she took our address details of the hotel in Asuncion and sent the camera in the next bus so we had it the next day. That could have ended worse! We are very thankful and happy for those honest people. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at casa de la Y although it was just one night.
