Friendliness of the staff (in particular Agnes, one of the concierges); concierge service, in general; excellent rooms and beds; amazing pool; open air cinema (with popcorn!); wonderful beach.
Food is overpriced; Having birds flying on the breakfast buffet is unhygienic and unacceptable for a 5-star hotel; breakfast buffet was good but would benefit from more variety.

The restaurant La plage is a little over priced and service is slow and the staff less friendly. I would rather recommend the snack bar/restaurant which is really good and the staff is very nice.

Lots of activities at the weekend. Great staff at the beach bar and some at the normal bar.
Sometimes hard to pay your bill for meals as staff keep moving around.

The welcome. Very, very friendly staff. The Orangerie Restaurant was excellent albeit pricey.

To eat at the casual restaurant facilities in the hotel was really too expensive for what was being served. Alcohol in general was extremely expensive and the cocktails were not good at all. I ordered an Irish whiskey before dinner one evening. The whiskey barely covered bottom of the glass... To our surprise, on the last evening we did not get our usual bottle of fresh water and get our bed turned down…. My wife and I also noticed that while there were seminar groups or weddings in the hotel, little attention was given to the other guests… on our last evening, we waited 1 hour to be served at dinner and the food was cold…This I believe is not 5 star service…
A clean, quiet and relaxing hotel with direct access to a shark-free beach, and the best restaurant we could find in the area! Friendly staff, good (though sometimes slow) service, and a fun but not intrusive entertainment program.
While shark-free and beautiful, the beach was not pleasant to walk on or swim in - too many sea shells and other debris that cut your feet. Bring water shoes!
All the staff were brilliant. The way the accommodation has been planned out is great. Food was just fine for us Location was super. Lagoon lovely and safe. Swimming pool is deceptively large (good pool). Would we go back to Reunion? yes. Would We go back to LUX? Yes (but there is so much to do in Reunion you may need to plan your accommodation in accordance to your activities). Concierge service was just absolutely brilliant (Benjamin, Alexandra and Marine were real stars).

The staff is totally inexperienced.To save money trainees are used instead of proper Hotel personnel.As they say :"Pay them peanuts, you get monkeys" The Conciergerie was supposed to properly book excursions..but did not check execution..again the fault of some trainee who had already left the Hotel...Unbelievable responses from other staff members to various queries showing they had no Hotel training...
Lobby and bar area are nice
Not a 5 Star hotel in all dimensions (staff and service and slow and seems inexperienced, rooms are ok but remind of much cheaper hotel categories, location is ok but not again not top notch, the beach equipment was cheap plastic sun loungers which are not commonly used by five star hotels etc)
Over-rated and over-priced. Uncomfortable chairs. Over-priced food. A long, long way from the airport. Like a glorified motel!

Very nice facilities, the hotel is right on the beach, the swimming pool isvery big and beautiful ( but the water is cold...) and the superior rooms are really nice (although bathrooms are a bit small).
The service isn't up to the hotel standards, and lacks professionalism The room service is really terrible (wrong order, delays, overpriced, etc.) Mini bar never replenished Rooms are clean but collective areas were not always. We complained at the reception and nobody reacted to any of these. Really too bad.
