It is located virtually at the entrance to the most astounding natural rock formation in Romania, on the heights of the Apuseni Mountains. For backpackers and trekkers this far out, a clean bed, hot meal and hot shower are heaven. The people were extremely friendly, and we ended up sharing a campfire party with a group of local Salvamont guides trading drinks and stories. A very good place if you're up for a wilderness adventure. It's important to realize that this is a mountain cabana without the conveniences expected in a hotel. Beds were clean but small, food was NOT a restaurant, but a fixed meal offering, and power is provided by a generator and not available at all times (in the middle of the night, for instance). There were no electrical outlets in rooms, although devices could be charged in common areas. Wifi is only available in the main lounge by specific request and when the power is on.
