Room and spa
Handy location, good quality and friendly staff. Swimming pool and spa are lovely.
There was absolutely no food available in the hotel apart from the breakfast buffet, and there was a general air of past grandeur about the hotel. I would have liked to have seen it ten years ago.
- awesome two story room with rooftop window and a huge shower. - had everything we needed. - really great swedish buffet as breakfast. - free access to the pool occupied all our time. - excellent price
The location is perfect for visiting the Citadel city and surrounding areas. We visited in winter and the room was lovely and cosy, the bed comfortable (with massive pillows!), and the view from our room's balcony at the back of the hotel was fabulous. The hotel's restaurant has a very extensive menu from traditional through to modern and portions are tasty and generous. What few interactions we had with staff were friendly and helpful.
Parts of the hotel were a bit tired -- a small amount of the wallpaper was peeling in our room, and reception and bar area was dark and smokey. We were a little disappointed that the spa didn't have the staff available to book the massages which were advertised around the hotel and we also were a bit surprised when the towels we left on the bathroom floor one morning weren't replaced when the room was made up that day, although they were happy to change them when we pointed it out to the reception staff.
Try to avoid room 240 if you do not like the smell of food....
Room, spa, almost all
Free for smoking, in the entire hotel and restaurant, at least rooms are without smoking smell, maybe more attention to the non smokers !!! if you want to stay a longer holiday, the town of Sighisoara in the winter does not offer too many opportunities for leisure,
No jacuzzi; we had some problems with the heating in the room in the first night
Room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel is very close to the citadel.
The water in the pool was pretty cold.
The breakfast, the bathroom and the covered pool.
The water in the pool was a little cold.
The staff of the restaurant, the atmosphere created by them, the food and the design of the hotel and the rooms.
The pool was closed two days out of four. For the other two days, we couldn't use the pool and spa, as the temperature of it was too low (24-25 degrees Celsius). Also, on the corridor that we had to use to get to the Spa, there was very cold. We chose the hotel for the Spa, and we paid to have it, but we didn't, so I would probably recommend it for the summer, when the refreshing water would be a plus.......
Excellent location- very friendly staff, everyone was helpful and spoke English. Definitely the cleanest/most modern hotel I've seen in Romania!
Clean, nicely furnished rooms, spa facilities
Close to main road
Nice, clean room, 2 lcd tv's, good breakfast, indoor parking, indoor pool, good location, next to the center
comfortable bed swimming pool spa breakfast
good location, spacious room compared with ones in old town. free parking
Poor landry service (clothes returned unfolded n wrinkled). Reception area was often smoky. Hotel service was ok but not excellent. (no smile no familiarity. I didnt feel any hospitality from staff) In my opinion that was not worth for 4star hotel.
The room, the bathroom, the extraordinary beds and of course....the location. I can easily call....A room with a View.
I think...almost it is a really good hotel.
The breakfast could be better. I mean they have to make the eggs food freshly...it was cold...Generally the breakfast is very week on this level. No fresh orange juice...etc.
We liked the location, there is private parking, the staff is nice. We didn't like the smell in our room and they changed it imediately. Although there are parties/weddings in the restaurant, no noise could be heard in the room.
It wasn't very clean, the walls were dirty, the furniture was dusty. The first room we received smelled bad, but we were able to change it to a nicer one. At midnight, we were waked up by cold air coming from the ventilation. We cald the reception and they stopped it... no idea why they started it in the first place. After returning to this hotel after 2 years, the overall feeling is that things changed to the worst. A little more cleaning and maintenance would change a lot.
Hotel Cavaler has the advantage of being a luxury hotel just outside the old city. Far enough to enable four star quality, including elevator, and close enough to reach the old city with a lovely short walk or cab ride. There is plenty of parking space at the hotel. Our room had a large balcony (although connected to the neighbors' balconies) with wonderful view of the old city.
The hotel had more attractions than we were able to use in our one night visit.
Lovely rooms, very comfortable beds. Close to old town
We travelled to 4 cities/town in Romania and this was the best hotel for comfort BUT the worst breakfast provided! Even after complaining in the nicest possible way to manager, there was still no black tea the following morning and the 'hot' food was still cold (told them it needed to be covered). Selection also poor and staff invisible. A new management team could turn this into a great hotel.
-location near city centre -beautiful junior suite for low price -breakfast selection
-stairs in room are steep -replenishment of food during breakfast was not smooth -church bells early in the morning
Location - close to old city centre, modern design, good food suitable also people with raw vegan diet
During my stay the music in the restaurant was extremely loud (a wedding was celebrated) reaching my room even with all windows closed although at checkin I specifically requested a room in which the music from the restaurant will not disturb our sleep; as conclusion - It is better to avoid room 117 in case there is a party in the restaurant; unfortunately for us, the music stopped around 4:00AM.
Location Cleanliness Buffet breakfast
Quality of sleep Strength of a/c
This is an excellent location. Breakfast was very good, the room was amazing. The restaurant is very good though kind of expensive. I think this hotel realy deserves 4 stars
Location, size of room superbly comfortable bed.
Although room had individual temp control, it was "over-ridden centrally. I set to 16 degrees C overnight and it was only down to 22 so too warm for me. Locals apparently felt the temps had gone autumnally cool at 25C during the day and 18 or so during the night. I think the controls should be left to the huests. Toom many of the hot items for breakfast were put out at once so they started to look less appetizing after half an hour or so. Less more often would have been better
