Christina Hotel  

The staff was exceptionally attentive and caring - from the moment we arrived until the waving goodbye in the taxi. I haven't had service like this in years! The rooms were impeccably clean. We had been on a volunteer project for a few weeks prior to our arrival at Hotel Christina. The adjustable beds, blackout drapes, a/c and plenty of water, coffee and nutritious breakfast was welcomed, almost with tears in our eyes! And, most impressive - no leaking shower! The first in Romania and actually thru much of our Eastern European travels. The "welcome" snack and wine was a touch that made our day. Thank you! Highly recommended!

The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff we very polite and helpful and even the manager, Calin, came to chat to us, asking if we were happy with everything. We also liked the fact that it was very relaxed atmosphere, we didn't feel that we had to dress up 'posh' for dinner which suited us. All in all, loved it!

The only thing was the shower heads were very heavy and didn't stay in the position that I needed it to be.....nothing else!

We arrived shattered after a sleepless night on the train, too early to check in. We were shown to their oasis of a terrace where cheese and wine were served on the house, and we met the owner, Dan, who is a character-and-a-half! I could have talked to him all day and night - so often folk seem reticent to talk about living under communism (understandable) but not Dan, who's tales were fascinating. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for these guys - he'd gone to incredible lengths to provide a collapsible wheelchair for one of our group who has very limited mobility. Very much appreciated and made a big difference to what we could do. Rooms spotless and well equiped, and staff just lovely. Special mention for Jan, who took us on a round city drive by arrangement of the hotel, who was delightful. This would be a fabulous hotel anywhere on earth - in Bucharest it is completely unexpected.

Weather was blazing. so we were looking forward to dinner on the terrace (as they suggested), so were a little disappointed on our return in the evening to find a late business conference in session, preventing access outside. We ate downstairs in the restaurant and were the only ones in there, which was a bit of a lonely experience. Had we have known, we would have eaten in Lipscani.

The staff was responsive in a timely manner to our inquiries and desires. They were extremely helpful before and during our stay. The remodeled hotel was beautifully modern, one of the most attractive we have encountered. The room was quite comfortable, including the bed. Our dinner was delicious and the breakfast was exceptional for a small hotel. The welcoming wine and cheese topped it all off. We highly recommend it to all.

Good location, professional staff, design room, Nespresso machine, great shower, great restaurant, pleasant surprise on arrival: Romanian cheese and wine for welcome!

Nothing was too much trouble 3 star hotel with 5 star service......

Very helpful hotel staff. A pretty "funky" room with novelty appeal. Spotlessly clean. A decent breakfast in the basement dining room. Good location for airport bus and Metro links. Good location for sight- seeing. Fairly quiet location. A laptop available for wi-fi at reception lounge area.

Only one coffee sachet provided per day. No leisure facilities which would not make it attractive for longer stays. Although I don't particularly fault the place can't quite see the justification for such a high ranking?

Excellent hotel, great rooms & great breakfast.

The entire hotel is absolutely beautiful... Clean to perfection, design is stunning. Visual impact of every single area of the hotel is exceptionally high. But it is the staff of the hotel who make the place special. They are all very friendly, welcoming, nice, helpful people who make staying at the hotel a complete pleasure. The food too is outstanding.

If anyone can think of anything to say in this box, there is something wrong with them. There is nothing you could possibly not like about Christina Hotel.

Hotel staff, cleanliness, comfort, very good breakfast

I don't normally write reviews but must in the case of Christina Hotel. Every aspect of the place, from the warm welcome from the owner Kalin and his staff to the thought put into the clean bright design and furnishings to the restaurant food and service was top notch and worthy of a boutique of twice the price. I was particularly impressed by the quality and thoroghness of the car tour service they arranged for me to the Transylvania countryside and historic sites. The guide Ian provided excellent orientation to the history as well as translation, with a fine modern car. I highly recommend Christina for wither business or tourist travelers.
