The Council Square is considered a symbol of Brasov, along with the Black Church. Situated in the old city, the Square was a commercial, social and cultural centre of the city in the course of several centuries.

The Black Church was built in Gothic style, and it dominates the city area with its dimensions. The name of the church was originally St. Mary, and it was changed to the Black Church after the fire of 1689, when the smoke blackened its walls.

Breakfast served in the next door restaurant was very delicious. Rooms, being only a month old, was sparkling clean and comfortable with some view of the town. We had the Whilte Tower in our view from the window. It is just off the central square and right in the middle of the street with many popular open terrace restaurants. An elevator would help when one has a big luggage. Steep stairs await you from the moment you step into their front door. But I guess it's the same in most small hotels here.	9
