The Regal constitutes an excellent budget choice. The rooms are large and comfortable and are equipped with en-suite and tv.The pension is spotlessly clean. The staff is friendly (no English spoken.)Breakfast is not buffet-style,but you are given a choice of meal and it is served to you.Because of awful weather,I had two evening meals at the pension (the restaurant closes at 2100) and both were delicious. The Regal is situated about 1.5 kilometres to the South of Satu Mare. There's a few bars within a five minute walk and a Billa supermarket (turn left when exiting the hotel) a similar distance away. The closest restaurant is a Pizzeria (turn right upon exiting the pension, then right again and you'll see it next to the Greek Catholic church.) I was impressed by the pension's security:outside of normal working hours, you had to press a buzzer to gain admittance. This was strictly adhered to and provided a safe atmosphere.

I enjoyed my stay at the Regal and found nothing to dislike about it.

    Staff generally helpful.

Location is not great -far from town centre. Breakfast could be better.
