First of all the location of the hotel is great, 15 minutes to the Otopeni Airport, 10 minutes to the shopping center, 10 minutes to Victorie square, however the signs on the main road that point towards the hotel are completely wrong!!!!! It took as 20 minutes going round and round and round as the arrow on the main road points left but the hotel is the other direction. Finally getting to the road that takes you into the hotel car park, you will see again 2 arrows that indicate both left and right, which is frustrating. Anyways the lovely lady who checked us in apologised for the inconvenience and offered us an upgraded room for all the hassle, gesture that was very much appreciated.
Besides the dirty water who run in our shower for 30 minutes because the room hasn't been used in quite a while( explanation which we have received after informing front office) we had no problem with the room or the toilet. Very spacious room, very modern and spacious bathroom, everything was spotless, big comfortable bed, very quiet and elegant. Breakfast was the best we had in our 2 weeks tour in Romania, quite a wide variety of options, the restaurant extremely elegant.
There is also a lovely terrace with a pool that feels like a oases in the heart of Bucharest, we have for sure received a 5 star customer service! The waiter who attended us on our first day was absolutely dedicated to serve us, as well as the lovely girl who checked us in and checked us out, what an asset for the hotel these 2 employees!
We would have rated Excellent for the customer service if we wouldn't have came across another young lady in front office. As one of the mornings at 9am we have been disturbed bya maid who entered our room without giving us any time toreact, I immediately informed front office, as we wanted to make sure it won't happen in the following mornings. The lady didn't even apologised instead almost throwing it to my face that was out fault we didn't put outside the door the sign DND. The policy left me completely speechless as on holiday i am sure nobody wants to worry about signs on their hotel room doors. We would have let it go if the young lady would'vebeen a trainee, but worst on her badge was written Anca Shift Leader. Also we came across the unhelpful shift leader when we required a scale to check the weight of our luggage. She promised she will call us back in the room, she never did, we had to take down our 32kg suitcase into the basement where the gym was and where we saw a scale. What a contrasting attitude comparing to the rest of the staff we came across!
Another negative aspect i would mention is the size of the pool. We were lucky to get on 2 of the 3 deck chairs by the pool on the first day but on the 2 nd day we had no chance.
