The owner and his wife welcome us in as guests. The owner joined us at dinner which was fabulous and shared stories and aperitifs from his private store. The room was spacious and spotless with comfortable beds. The location is at the end of a road in a small town outside Turnu Magurele. Peaceful and quiet. I see some people reporting they were unhappy with the location - I suspect they expected to be closer to Turnu Magurele. They should have done better research. Good food and reasonable prices. The best hotel I've had in Romania by a long shot.
The owner gave us a great welcome and invited us to dine with the family. A memorable occasion with six different sea-food dishes, wine and grappa! A swimming pool is being constructed which has involved "destruction" of the garden, no doubt to be re-instated in due course.
Unfortunately due to the proximity of a loop of water from the Danube, the mosquitoes are a great nuisance, about which little can be done.
