Hotel Fortress Leopold I  

Hotel je na odličnoj lokaciji i to jedino opravdava kategorizaciju 5*. Pohvala za italijanski restoran Terasa koji je u sklopu hotela.

Hotelsko osoblje je potpuno neobučeno, kao da su zaposlili amatere na recepciji, u restoranu...doručak je katastrofalan što se tiče izbora i kvaliteta hrane za hotel sa 5*, služe bajat hleb, nemaju toster... Sobe su skučene i kreveti mali. Ujutru nema tople vode u kupatilu. U mini bar stavljaju samo jednu flašicu vode za dvoje odraslih ljudi, morali smo da se svadjamo sa recepcionarkom da bi nam doneli dodatnih par flašica koje smo naravno hteli da platimo. Realna kategorizacija ovog hotela je maksimalno 4* i to samo zbog lokacije, sve drugo je na nivou 3*.

Divine aristocratic hotel on the top of a fortress.Amazing feeling while you're driving to the top,passing through a narrow tunnels and steep cobbled winding alleyways.Although it belongs to the modern city,you feel like you're in 17th century.Really awesome,especially for a change,if you're bored after so many new,fancy,minimalistic hotels.You can enjoy in great food in one of the few terrace restaurants overlooking the Danube and Novi Sad.Also,if you have time,try some of a spa&wellness packages,massages are great. Warm greetings for all friendly and kindly personnel and for a manager and a director of the hotel who let me to stay 6h longer free of charge,although the hotel policy is 50% of full price.

Location

Very noisy during our stay. Noise from the restaurant during all night, noise from the large fan on the floor in the attic at 6:30 am. Missing ending on tap at the sink (shower), broken shower head. Cigarette smoke in the restaurant during breakfast. Definitely not a 5* hotel.

The bathroom ceiling is inclined and if you are tall is a bit of a problem

This is a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. Olde worlde charm and elegance at its best. The hotel is full of interesting and probably unique architectural features. Fine upholstery, curtains etc...Sitting on top of a fortress overlooking the Danube and Novi Sad you can sit outside and enjoy a drink or a meal at one of the adjacent restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff.

The other guests! Here is a hotel fit for kings and most of the guests were loafing around in shorts and flip-flops! Old World elegance meets New Age decadence! I mean really....

Both the room rate and the price of food and drink were good value almost all of the staff whom i met exhibited a commendable 'can do' attitude the food was good at dinner

The exception to the 'can do' attitude I describe opposite was the waiter. He seemed to want us to fit into his ways. For example, to insist that someone, who was sitting talking to a friend who was eating in the bar area, should move to the dining room to eat the food he had ordered. For instance not having a wine list from which to choose breakfast buffet was a bit sparse

Very nice, castle-like hotel up in Petrovaradin Fortress, with great look of Novi Sad and river Danube. Elegant hotel with friendly and helpful staff, with gourmet kitchen. Calm, excellent for relaxation; spa with hot tubs and sauna.

There is nothing wrong I could say.

The extreme helpfulness of all the Staff, an excellent buffet breakfast, I tried both restaurants on the ramparts, and found the Italian themed one good value and quality. The Ground Staff, 4 Policemen and a Snow Plough eventually got me on my way to Belgrade, Wot a Gas!!

There is nothing that went wrong at your hotel from the first moment we arrived. Even the taxi driver gave us so much information about the city nad how to get to the hotel by car that it was all a piece of cake when we got our rental. The staff was so polite and helpful and the breakfast was out of this world. Everything one can imagine plus the Vojvodina home cuisine. The rooms were in the time period of Leopold I, which was great.We had dinner at the outside restaurant (Osam tamburaša) and our waiter knew how to recommend different things both evenings. (He comes from Novi Beograd, but has taken the spirit of your hotel). Stay successful, you shall see us again.

I could not imagine one bad moment, thing or situation that had gone wrong. Keep up the good work.

Magnificent setting and adjacent bars and cafes were buzzing in the evening to add to the ambience. We had a room on 3rd floor which was a modern one but 1st and 2nd were Baroque style and may have been more in keeping with the building. However the modern room was spot on ! We only stayed one night and the heatwave stopped us walking into town, however more than enough to do on the fort so not an issue. One of the gems of our trip !

Have to leave passports behind reception on arrival. Some of cheaper rooms not as oplulent. No wifi on top floor.

It's a fortress with magnificent view on Duna river and Novi Sad river. Excellent staff.

The hotel epitomizes old world charm and elegance. I felt like I had traveled back in time. My room had a salon area with television, a desk area, and an alcove which contained the bed. I had expected something nice, but this hotel well exceeded my expectations. Also, the hotel staff was friendly and extremely anxious to please. The breakfast did not disappoint. There was a huge selection from which to choose. In addition, the waiter asked whether I had any requests for a special order, such as an omelet or other. As soon as the mushrooms left the kitchen, the waiter came by to serve them.

My minibar wasn't cold. But actually I ended up order room service from the bar, which I think was a better option anyway. Also, the wifi in my room required a cable connection which the hotel provided. No big deal. The reason I rated the location so low was that the hotel is not in the city center, so travelers need to be aware that they will have to walk across a rather long bridge to get into the city. On the other hand, the hotel across the river because it is part of the fortress, and it was stunningly beautiful at night to see. I also came along with my dog. They had wanted to charge me an additional EUR35.00, which I protested. They relented and waived the fee altogether. In the morning, however, the reception manager did point out the fine print about possible additional charges for animals. I blame Booking.com more than the hotel for this confusion. Booking.com should have some kind of mechanism to require the hotel to report the intended additional rate prior to accepting the reservation.

Exellent location and beautiful view. Classical design, period furniture, rooms with canopy. An exceptional blend of romance and style.

Splendida a fost panorama pe care a desfasurat-o Dunarea. Pozitionarea hotelului in incinta fortaretei cit si terasele au fost ceva special. Si nu in ultimul rind mincarurile servite la restaurantele de pe terase au fost deosebite. O placere pe care n-o poti uita . Vom reveni cu deosebita placere. O recomandam cu incredere si altora . Nu veti regreta !
