the location of the hotel was great. the style of the flat and rooms were really interesting. overall we were satisfied. only problem was with the front desk. when we asked for the breakfast, she said that we should have ordered it. but we didn't know about that and nobody told us to do so. when we asked for a solution, she said "its not my problem!!..". then whose problem is this? anyway we had the breakfast but we really did not appreciate her response.

The only positive thing about Artel is the location. Even with a relative low rate, the hotel , located on the second floor of a very old building, is terrible. A prison cell has bigger rooms and the noise of the theater until 4:30 in the night (every night) drives one crazy.

Location is perfect and that's the only good quality of the hotel. Even though the price is not high, a minimum on cleanliness and comfort is expected. The hotel is a ruin, the rooms are impossibly small, no cupboards, no closets, and the bathroom is terrible. It just should be called a hostel and it would be acceptable.

Its location is great but its initial entrance appearance is extremely poor. For breakfast you have to order the night before with very limited choice, I.e what reception can remember, its then delivered to your room the following morning. Remember to arrive with something to drink there's nothing in the room. Wireless broadband doesn't work in the room, you have to sit in the corridor for access. Room, appearance, facilities non existent.

Exellent price and location! Pretty nice place, with 3 clubs nearby. But still, in my room was absolutely no noise. Breakfast in the room, to be sure you will have it - ask for it on reception in the evening. Clean, small room - exactly what I searched for.

Perfect location. So-so service. The biggest problem is that their waitress cannot speak English. Anyway, comparing with the good location, the prices are very competitive.

Hotel Artel was a whole new experience. It's design is amazing; different than any other I've ever stay at; artistic and bohemic. The location is just perfect. Everything is practically just around the corner within the walking distance. Next to the hotel you'll find few clubs; different ones, for everybody's taste. Giving the location of the hotel and its price, I'm sure you can't get better than that. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families traveling with children, business people or people over 35. Hotel is situated on the third floor of a small building. On the first and second floor there are few clubs and if you are not planing on joining them, you won't get much sleep.

Location, simplicity, price Needed to wait for the hot water to come for 30-60 seconds. There is not much air (stifling ) in the room without of windows. No WiFi in some rooms and not enough place to seat comfortably in common area. In the room without of window no mobile phone signal.

Surprising hotel, very artistic and comfy. Even my local producer was surprised in a good way, including the price.... Lady Jane Bar is really cozy, the restaurant/bar at the first floor has interesting concerts times to times and good food. Great service at both overall. Our standard room was really nice, clean and simple, ask for one with a window. Breakfast was good and the staff really nice and always ready to help. Art all over the place, good vibes everywhere and very conveniently located, close to two main subway stations and ten minutes walk from the Red Square, five from the Bolshoi. Great area in deed !! Highly recommended if you take the highest rate (Standard double room). Great value for the money. Double bed was in fact two twins put together with a sheet. Can be noisy due to some building work across the street at 11 pm. Leaks from the shower glass wall. Breakfast coffee was Nescafe, some water or oj could have been nice, but hey, it was free !! No ambiance lights besides of the ceilling fan light. A couple of lamps could have been cool.

Overall we are ok with this hotel. Good location to the heart of Moscow, close to metro and not that difficult to find the way in (but need to study before get in). Wi-fi available, Art in a room is bizarre.

I found the staff to be very nice, polite, helpful and the housekeepers very attentive. Also had nice conversation with the 'Parrot' ! Hard to criticise. As it was a budget hotel I got everything I would have expected but for me as long as it was kept clean then I wouldn't ask for anything more at that price and for it's location which was incredible in terms of all the sights in the city.

The macaw parrot at reception. Many months after booking the first nights room was of a lower level than booked. Not one seat or a desk in the room. Moldy toast served at breakfast. Washing at $7 an item ridiculous. Had to sit 'side saddle' on the toilet! Ridiculously expensive for a backpackers, hostel facility.

The hotel is located in the heart of Moscow and it's hard to find a better location. Also, it is significantly less expensive than the rest of the hotels in the area The bathroom is tiny. There is no space even put one's toothbrush; one needs to bring it in each time one wants to brush one's teeth together with the rest of the bathroom accessories. The hallways have hardwood floors and Russian women like to wear high heels. These two factors don't work well together for the hotel guests who need earplugs.
