Free wifi. View from my room.. sky bar. Silence. Restaurant
Facilities.. no tv started in my room for 5 days.. then there was hot water problem for next 13 days.. no one came to fix my problem. I had to had shower in cold and warm water which gave me cough. Receiption guy fooled me for 1600 rubles as he said it was a complimentary night due to hotels poor service but next day he forced me to pay 1600 rubles. Poor poor poor service. I was supposed to come back and stay with my 19bcollegues for 21 days for work but I will cancel the booking and think about staying somewhere else.
Liked the staff. Location is fine.
Room too small. Had a swimming pool every time I shower in my bathroom. Cleaning was very bad. No change for the bed linen in 4 nights. Cleaning was very poor.
1. A room in the highest possible floor in the (cheapest) price category was requested. In an 18-storey-building, got 17th. Request fulfilled! 2. The check-in went smoothly. At the end, the receptionist asked for an additional fee of 150 rubles per person for registration, but we clearly stated that there was no need for such, because our trip wouldn't exceed 72 hrs. No further questions, and we paid only for the room. This might also be listed as a minus though, because none of this was mentioned on the site. 3. The room was clean - meaning, there was no visible dirt or dust in it. 4. On television, there was the widest selection of channels so far in St.Petersburg hotels of this category, foreign satellite channels included. 5. Last but not least, some of that Auld Soviet Magic still left in this place, in a good way. Wish they'd still officially call it Sovetskaya! :)))
1. Quite a long way from both Tekh. Institut and Baltiyskaya metro stations on foot. 2. At booking, requested for a bathroom with a shower without a bathtub, but got one with an unneeded bathtub anyway. It might be though, that there simply isn't any of such bathrooms in this price category. 3. The bathroom had "a smell from hell" throughout the stay, and could only be avoided by keeping the light and ventilation system on at all times, and that was very noisy. To be exact, it was a strong smell of excrement unlike in any other hotel room in St.Petersburg before. 4. The tap water was slightly brown and smelly, fortunately not the same smell as in the previous paragraph though. 5. Window frames were incomprehensibly shabby in an otherwise decent room. It was like at the last renovation somebody had insisted to leave some visible Soviet-type reminiscences... 6. The room was too cold at times, only 21-22 degrees, which wasn't enough. 7. No refridgerator.
Wi-Fi works. Comfort in room good. It was in renovated floor. One friendly male receptionist came to our help and fixed normal room for us finally. Breakfast very good.
We reserved room for new year. Junior Suite with windows towards city. We went to hotel weeks before and make sure that we have the room that we want. We arrive on new year and previous guest decided to stay 2 nights longer. Our room was not available anymore. Staff tried silently to accommodate us in completely different room. They should have placed the previous guest in another room because room was reserved for us on that specific night. After headache and long arguing, staff found similar room for us but only after long negotiations. Not automatically as should be in good hotel.
1. Price vs. Quality is good. 2. The new rooms look quite good, the old ones are clean.
1.At reception, as we are foreign citizen, ww had to pay an additional fee 150 RUB/pers. 2. Bed linen was dirty. 3. The WI-FI is not available in all the rooms.
- New rooms good furnished (ask for renovated ones); - Good location; - Resonable price (late Dec, early Jan); - Excellent view from higher floor.
Scrambled eggs was uneatable.
There were problem with shower, Even in fixed medium the cold changen with Hot and back to cold itself. Very unconfortable :)!
Lack of signes
The room was lovely and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious with a lot of choice, and the bar offers a wonderful view of the city.
There are two categories of room in the hotel - the lowest range (which I was given for one night) is equivalent to a pretty cheap motel, with barely enough light, and you're surrounded by what I assume are students on school trips. The wait to speak to someone at the reception was often very long (around 45 minutes).
The drinking water is so fat away by the time I reached my room the water is already cooled. There's no reason for such a big building with only one water dispenser. The wifi none too is so poor in the room I had to go to the Lobby to go online. The water was not hot on the first night. The ro is so small you can't even turn around without bumping to the other person
Bed too small. Room too small
After renovation - just fantastic! They did their homework very well. Everything, including personnel, is on high level. Keep going!!!
Sky Bar as well as the view in Smart Room
Kitchen closes at 11 pm and breakfast opens at 7 pm = no food at all during the whole night
Exceptional staff. Truly professional. Great pleasure to experience it in Russia.
The hotel does need some renovation.
Better take "Smart" rooms and above. All beyond are poor. Smart are good.
Nice staff and good breakfast.
reception and concierge staff, quick elevators.
small rooms, WiFi interrupted all the time, breakfast, location.
Very beautiful view, many picturesque places around.
The staff is not professional. We had a lot of problems: air conditioner didn't work, the window didn't open, no hot water , poor breakfast. All renovated rooms are VERY VERY Small, just TINY !
Clean. Very nice staff. Nice surroundings (nice park to stroll with dogs). Good food. Even with list of what I did not like, this is considerable place to stay.
After renovation interior is like in lavatory, plain rock/tiling. Having space divided with chairs and light movable walls gives unfinished feeling. Having no carpets in lobby makes interior noisy, loud and echoing. Having no air conditioning in room made room temperature to stay above 30 deg celsius even in night (it was really hot summer weekend). Lobby bar is a disappointment after renovation.
AC didn't work. Took 30 minutes to check-in and longer than that to check-out.
A view of Saint-Petersburg from the Skybar of the hotel
Process of renovation
Good hotel for its money. Price/performance is great.
Internet is lousy. Not only WiFi, but wired as well.
The location is very convenient, although the Metro station is much further away than I expected.
The windows don't close properly, which is a big problem in the winter. Sometimes the water is so durty that you have to wait over an hour to take a shower.
I liked the location of the hotel
First and Foremost was the terrible fact that you could hear everything from within your room, the walls must be made of paper, Kids running up and down corridors like they were in your room running, the bar was a little pricey, and there was no air conditioning, so you were either very hot, or very cold, things looked very run down, old and out of date.... I had no sleep there, and infact, left one night early to go somewhere else so that I could get a goodnight sleep.... Terrible Terrible place !
