Location of Hotel but to find the etrance is an issue
there were odors in the room. Smell was coming from toilet sewage system, and whenever was fludhing water a pump was starting working and the noise was very annoying
Location, the hotel is located in an old building but in a very nice location, close to the Red Square and Kremilin.
The noise on the toillet, they have a system to get rid of water that is really noisy.
Excellent location. Right in the city center, about a hundred meters from all the nice cafes.
A bit cold in the upstairs room.
I had to stay in a stinky no window room although I was not informed by booking.com. They refused to upgrade it without charge and offered me money back. I contacted booking.com staff they were also not helpful.
Location is ideal. Central, safe area, 10-minute walk to the Red Square, 5 minute walk to the subway station At this price, the location is definitely a plus Staff was nice although communication was hard.
No elevator to get from reception to the upper floor room Strange stench coming out from the bathroom No hot water to shower?! Entrance was hard to find despite indications that it was on the Tverskaya street, it is rather in a back alley. It is not dangerous but it is a bit inconvenient if you don't know the place. Staff doesn't really speak English
close to centre. rooms are nice but some of them has only one window and this is on the roof.
entrance from the backyard and first five floors are not nice.
Walk to location 4 blocks to Bolshoi. 6 blocks to Kremlin/St.Basils.1 block to Metro station.
Hard to find location. My best advice is to first situate yourself at the Yves Rocher store at the southeast corner of Tvetskaya and Kamerkersky Per. Then proceed northeasterly on Kamerskaya just past the Yves Rocher store to the first set of large black iron gates with a pedestrian gate that always stays open. What you are entering looks like an alley.Go past these gates about 20 meters and the hotel sign is where the building walls indent in on your right.Press the doorbell button to get buzzed into the locked exterior door.First impressions make you wonder what you are entering but after you land on floor 7 with the elevator, you find yourself in a nice 2 floor hotel setting and nice staff there 24 hours a day.
Megapolis Tverskaya is about as central as you can get in Moscow, yards from the Duma and minutes from Red Sq.Its a conversion of a number of apartments into a boutique hotel, one of which was my home for 10 years, which obviously adds to my feelings and affection for the place. Its clean, comfortable with friendly staff and offers excellent value. Also all the amenities are close by,bars, restaurants and all the sights.
leaving! its home from home in Moscow
Location was perfect for a city trip. Beds and room were good
No launche or bar in the hotel. The shuttle service was an old dirty and stinking car. The driver was smelling and drove like a mad man and we were happy we survived the trip to the airport
The room was good but no window. It just had a pot hole like in the cruise. . Nothing much that I liked.
It will take you atleast 15 minutes to find the location. No proper sign boards. The hotel is on the 7th floor of a residential apartment in a compound in some by lanes. When we told the staff there is no hot water they say, we have given a deal on booking.com because of this problem. They never mentioned when we were booking this. Later at night the air conditioning stopped cooling. When I complained the boy at the reception, we said you don't know to use the remote. As if I was an uneducated person using a ac remote for the first time. They have promised to refund me 2000 Rubles. .. I'm still waiting. Not recommended at all. The location is the best once you find it.
The big noise inside the toilet. There was a water bomb inside our bathroom. During the night, the noise waked us a plenty of times.
Reception staff was polite and helped us find another hotel .....(but the next day he reported us as 'no-show')
It was not mentionned on booking.com that the hotel had no hot water (a normal maintenance procedure for 10 days in summer in Russia, but all other hotels I had seen always have individual boilers). We were asked to find another hotel (with some help) and promised that nothing would be charged to us. The next day, hotel reported us as 'no-show' to booking.com and we had to pay the entire night as a penalty..... I strongly recommend you to look for another hotel in Moscow!!
The hotel is great value for money for its location, 2 minutes from the Kremlin.
The entrance is via a backdoor, and looks fairly scruffy. Our cab driver had to ring to find a way in. You then need to get a lift to the 7th floor to find reception.
Extremely nice 'mini-hotel' right next to Red Square and a metro entrance. The bed was amazing and everything was very clean. The staff even let me use their ironing room!
Crazy difficult to find. For anyone staying for the first time: Go through the arch in the building leading into the alley. You will immediately see a guard shack on your left leading into a parking lot for a block of flats. Walk to the end of the lot. Just before you get to the gate at the end you will see a door on your left with a sign for the hotel. It's also the entrance to that set of flats. If you still can't find it, there is a little convenience store there close to it. Just ask them and they can show you.
Moscow Hotels are expensive but this was in a brilliant location at a good price. Staff had poor English but did try to help.
Hotel entrance difficult to find initially. Need to pay particular attention to location instructions
Very near red square and a nice street of resturaunts
Not the most attractive of entryways. We had the first room and that was near the reception so could hear people coming and going and the 'bing' of the doorbell etc. not ideal. The free softdrinks was 2 bottles of sparkling water on first day, so don't get too excited by that!
Location is superb. I have been traveling to Moscow a few times a year and always trying to stay around center. Any other place I've looked around this area were at least 1.5 times more money for one night! It's cozy homy style hotel, very quite and great access to subway, restaurants in the evening, entertainment and of course sight-seeing (10 min walk from Kremlin and Red Square). I'll definitely will come back again.
I don't have anything to report that I didn't like.
Fantastic location, comfortable beds, fast wi-fi and spacious rooms
Some people would be put off at the fact that this is a micro hotel and the entrance is through a residential building. But at this price there is absolutely no comparison in central Moscow.
Unbeatable Location Clean and Comfortable Rooms Friendly Staff Fast Wi-Fi
TV picture was fuzzy, the bed was broken at one end, the linen was too small for a double size bed. Seems like they need inspection from Booking.com...
The location is excellent. We got a room with balcony facing the pedestrian area, we could enjoy the life passing by and a side look on a 8 lines boulevard with some interesting drivers and police scatches. The staff was great, one evening I got blocked in the toilet and the two receptionist came in and dismount the door with the help of a knife and a screw driver.. I was very impressed by their skills and "savoir fair".
The pump in the toilet can be noisy.. but only when you use water. The entrance of the hotel is not spectacular but is all part of the charm of this town. There is really a surprise behind every door.
Excellent location just a few minutes walk from red square and main sightseeing spots.
Entrance to hotel is in a sketchy back alley which made it difficult to find at the beginning but overall is a good area. Once you make few steps to main street you are in the main area of moscow.
Ideal location for business and tourist.
The entrance/courtyard needs some renovation.
- The location was perfect! - The staff was helpful.
- A strange machine was connected to the toilet and it was quite loud after flushing it. - Sometimes strange smell was comming from the lavatory. - The lights in the rooms were not really strong. - The price quite high, while the main benefit was only the location.
