Not far from Metro Smolenskaya (5 minutes walk). Clean room. Nice staff. Cheap price.
Hard to breath. Very loud. Can hear people in other rooms.
Price Location free wi-fi
No laundry/washing machine Can't cook (limited kitchen facilities)
Great location just steps from Arbat or river Moskva, 1,5 km to Kremlin, quiet street, well equipped kitchen (good cookware, microwave, big fridge...).
Cramped room in the flat (the hostel consists of one flat, divided in cca 16 rooms, mostly without window), lack of showers and toilets - most of them was in repair in the time we stayed in hostel, very basic rooms, too many people for such a small place (about 20+ persons).
great place for young people, and the rooms are convieniet if you don't mind that the bed is on a high stand
the stupid locals who were staying there :)
Bathrooms really clean. Rooms are big. Thy have a fridge. Really good located. Staff person is really nice, she helped us a lot.
Showers are kind of dirty, not so dirty, just a little.
The lady in the reception speak a little english. That is a huge advantage. The location is perfect.
The rooms without window are hot. The stair to go up to the bed is unconfortable.
Really good location. It only needs 5 minutes to the old Arbat and not much more to the Metro. The hostel was really clean. The room itself was nice and the beds were comfortable. The staff was really nice and helped whenever she could. Even though she didn't speak English (She told us she currently is taking English classes, so the language problem will be solved soon.
There was no stove, but if you know it before, you can plan it. The walls are a little thin, but it wasn't that loud in the hostel anyway.
receiption the room is too small
Excellent Staff, Excellent Location, Very Economical and Excellent Cleaning
that my stay was too short.
In my opinion the hostel scores best in the 'value for money category'. It caters well for young people who prefere price before comfort. A room with a window is recommendable regarding the fact that those rooms without one can get pretty hot, even in spring time.
Clean and nice hostel, close to center, even though 10 min walk to metro
I chose the 3 persons room, which had window, but most of the rooms don't have window and no ventilation. Also I felt that the bathrooms were not enough for the no of rooms and are positioned near kitchen, so it's not very comfortable. Also if you want to smoke you have to go outside. Poor soundproofing, you hear everything from the other rooms, even if they try to keep everything under control with some internal rules
room is so tidy and clean
poor location, it is inside the residential area, but no logo outside this hostel, we spent more than 1 hour to find the hostel. and no one open the door when we rang the doorbell...; 4 public bathroom, but narrow, and only 2 toilets...
very clean, nice people,
The Hostel is nice, The Staff(Tanya) is really helpful. The loacation is close to Arbat street but a little bit far from walk to Metro.
The room is small and ventilation is not enough so sometimes I feel I can't breath. The hostel is hard to find. There're no signs to see.
- very clean - well located
- small rooms, especially those without windows
The location and the good management about registration
The missing of air in the room, so difficult to be there.
the interior design is as good as being at home. fast wifi, kitchen, quietness.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Tatiana, the place is kept clean at all times. Location is good, near smolenskaya metro and Arbat street. Safe touristic area.Wifi is free and good as well. Good kitchen (but only microwave)Overall, I think it was a good value for money ratio considering Moscow is an expensive city.
Things to consider: I booked the double room without window and it was really small and claustrophobic (room 12). Impossible to sleep as walls are paper thin. No insulation at all. As I was there for 7 nights I asked to be changed to a bedroom with windows and the bedroom number 4 was really good. It was very hard to find the hostel at first as any other hostel in Russia. No signs at all apart from a " 35A" stuck on the window facing the street.Study the map first and ask the hostel for extra directions before your trip. Most of the guests are Russian residents who work in Moscow, so if you are looking for meeting international travellers, forget it. Anyway it didn't bothered me as everybody seemed to be honest people minding their own businesses. If you don't speak Russian you may struggle as English is not spoken apart from basic. Google translate did the job. If you can't get a bedroom with window, I recommend this hostel.
Location and price
I travel a lot, and Simba hostel is the cleanest hostel I have ever been in. Every single square inch (cm) is as clean as if you stepped into a pharmacy. Honest, administrator keeps it clean and tidy every single minute, and it definitively isn’t dirty, nor smelly. Sleep quality is absolutely perfect, even during the day is peaceful and quite, and not only in the hostel, but on the street as well. When administrator is far away from the phone, she literally runs to answer it. I was there with two friends and we took a triple room, and we really didn’t mind that beds were on the ceiling. We had much space on the ground. :) We came there earlier (check-in starts at 14:00), but administrator let us in and offered us with tea, coffee, and a place to leave our luggage, and of course with a place to stay until our room became available.
I think they should get more of a kitchen, besides microwave and boiler, especially for people who plan to stay longer.
value, clean, free coffee/tea and pretzels, good beds in clean room, decent location
showers and kitchen sink share water pressure, no stove for cooking
The hostel is in a good location and the staff is great, especially Tatiana.
Location. Bathrooms and the kitchen were good.
The single room wasn't good at all - no sound isolation at all. Quite stuffy.
I stayed there just one night. Location: really convenient and very close to Arbat street and Kropotkinskaya metro station -just 7 minutes walk-. Hostel, room, toilets & showers: small, simple, nice and clean... at a reasonable price! Staff: very kind and glad to help in anything... although the front desk girl speaks very little english. Bonus: free and good wifi connection.
