Very central location, nice room with comfy chairs to meet the others at reception, but no water bottle from which to help yourself and no kettle. Nice breakfast but boring bread and no toaster.

too many stairs. Nobody offered to help with luggage. Airless room, no kettle available. We didn't like people smoking on the stairs because the smell drifted up.

Central location of hotel just behind the Admiralty and near the Neva and the Hermitage Museum. Friendly and helpful staff who spoke sufficient English for communication and arranged taxis to and from the airport for us. The varied buffet breakfasts, especially the porridge and the pancakes.

The poor quality bread at breakfast - perhaps a toaster could have been provided. The fact that we initially had to ask specially to have our towels changed. It would have been helpful if the staff had more information/brochures about museum tours and boats.

    Location is good, clean

We ran out of hot water for two consecutive days. The first day we could not take a bath, and the hot water was restored in the afternoon or in the evening after the technicial worked during the day in the room. The second day there was no hot water and we were told to wait for the technician at 10:00 AM. We had to take a shower with cold water since we needed to leave the hotel and had a flight with connection. The manager didn't want to talk to us. We sent two complaints later by email but nobody replied, so the only way to express our disapointment was through booking.com

Helpful stuff and very good location close to hermitage. The street where the hotel is located has many young hip cafes and restaurants. Rooms were clean and quite big.

The breakfast was quite poor. No fresh juices, over boiled eggs, omelette swimming in boiling water and yoghurt that tastes like artificial sugar was not very appetising.

Location, locationa, location:) Right in the middle of everything: Hermitage, Nevsky, Dvorcovy bridge - 3 min. walk, Mariinsky theatre - 20 min. walk. We were during White nights and it was very convenient to go any time to see bridges opening and closing. Very friendly stuff. Tried Russian food for dinner at the nearby restaurant, where we also had breakfast, really tasty. Nice street view, not noisy. Big room and bathroom.

At the hotel page was mentioned, that "front desk offers guided city tours in several languages", they don`t offer this service, but there are many companies around. No lift, as we had room on the 5th floor stuff helped us with luggage, but it is for elderly people. Smoking at the stairs.

Fantastic location - easy to walk to most of the main sites. Very helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful, refurbished rooms. Enormous well equipped bathroom. A safe, fridge and air conditionong, plus a water cooler outside the room, all a tremendous help.

Felt there should have been some warning about not drinking the tap water. People also need to know it's 3 floors up to the reception and there's no lift. We were helped up and down with luggage though. Breakfast was down the road in a separate block, though this was interesting as very traditionally Russian and used by many Russians in uniform!

Location could not be better. Size of the room and the comfort of the bed was also OK. Excllent Wi-Fi, helpful staff, but difficulties with English (as almost everywhere in Russia). Excellent value for money, if you want to stay in the historical center of the city, but do not want to pay a fortune for a night.

The building from the outside and the stairway look rather worn-out. Reception on the 2nd floor, no elevator, rooms on the 4th floor are not for elderly people. Restaurant outside of the building, actually these rooms are rather cleaned appartments, not a real hotel. No healthy breakfast, processed food with a lot of sugar in everything. Not for diabetic persons.

Staffing were very helpful, whenever you asked questions, they would answer you patiently. Room services were excellent, very clean and we like the free breakfast the most located next door. Location is perfect, close to many attractions.

Some staff's English are very limited, created a bit of miscommunication sometimes, but they tried to use the translation app to help which was much appreciated. Wifi had to be renewed almost everyday. Smoking should not be allowed in the lobby area/ check in area, they should go outside the building to smoke.

    Location and dutiful staff

No lift to the 3rd floor where the hotel reception is. Most of the staff could not speak English. Smell from drainage throughout the city.

In fact, It is not a hotel, but some flats of building block converted to host travelers. Good for people who are not sensitive to poor service, especially who want to stay in downtown of expensive city at extremely low rate for accodation. Rooms' location is excellent in historical center, close to world known sites.

I personally had only one problem - breakfast at 8am - too late for early starters, so never tasted food there((((

The location really cannot be beat since it is right next door to Nevsky Prospect and all the Petersburg highlights. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

Although the location is incredible, however I was not aware that this place was actually a mini-hotel, meaning a hotel within a residential apartment house. I showed up on the late Sapsan train from Moscow at about midnight and was confused by the fact it appeared I was in a residential building. The staff are not especially friendly and are not into making things easy. The Wifi is absolutely horrible!! The signal was so weak that I never could hold a connection for very long, especially at night. The breakfast is three doors down at a small cafe owned by the hotel. It was rather unpleasant since they allowed smoking, which ruined breakfast.
