The public relations manager is fantastic. He did everything in his power to make our stay memorable and comfortable. We did not have 110 V adaptors which he provided. He assisted very professionally with the food and breakfast (Western food) and also assisted us to obtain any specific food we asked for. The food variety is great. Also the chef in the kitchen is the best in Saudi Arabia comparing to all the hotels we have stayed before.( more than 10 others) This man is an asset to the hotel. we had a room with a sea view and the hotel is walking distance from the sea and also shops. The location is great.
the power outlets are all old and 110V and we have new laptops which needs 220V power outlets. The power was not working at certaim =n outlets when we arrived , but this was repaired.
Prime location. Design , it is beautifully made into duplex units.
Furnitures; Very old. I was told by the front desk when I complained ; that they are going to renovate the whole hotel.
Food & location
We were in a junior suite and it was very spacious. It was two storey with sitting area and kitchen downstairs and couple of rooms on the floor above with attached baths. Check in was swift and very friendly staff. I liked the breakfast and view of the corniche from the 9th floor was very pleasant. I had gone for breakfast around 7 with my 6 year old daughter and only two tables were occupied. However the place where my daughter wanted to sit was in an area marked for family and they wouldn't consider me and my daughter family :) My 3 children loved the room and found the space very useful for their running around. There are quite a few shops including a Tamimi supermarket (Safeway) nearby.
The furniture was a bit old which isn't an issue as it was generally clean. However all the sofas had seen better days and were quite dirty especially the pillows. I have no idea when they were last washed and don't think I would want to know. I had requested a baby cot at the time of reservation and again at check in. However none was provided. A call after 2 hours resulted in a small cushion with a blanket being delivered and laid down on the floor. My wife didn't want to put the baby on the floor so it went unused. The second room's flush was very dirty and had clearly not been cleaned properly but I was there for one night only so didn't complain. The main bathroom's WC also got clogged in the morning but again I was going to check out in a couple of hours so didn't make any calls. Lastly I had asked for 1 tea spoon to make cereal for my daughter as the kitchen didn't have any cutlery which again took 3 phone calls and 2 hours to be delivered. The last call was to the manager from a very angry guest which did result in quick delivery and a very sincere apology.
I stay in the room without AC & they inform me next day there is a major problem !!! The sound is too loud they have party in the hotel and we can’t sleep until 3 am
